  • Could Apple EPS Really Fall To $8?  [View article]
Hey there boisterousbob--I just go by my observation and talking to people. Most people I've spoken to who now have the iphone4/5 etc said they will most like get the 7 just because its time for a new one. i have the 6s 64....unless the 7 has something that totally will blow the 6s away I will keep the 6s. I think the iphone forever program is a big thing as well. i have a friend that works in one of the more popular sprint stores in nyc and said the iphone forever program is a huge hit. Lets see the numbers come earnings release in two weeks.....have a good one!!

I'm going to throw a very interesting observation at everyone---first i'm long in AAPL--just to make that clear. I live in NY and take the train everyday--also walk around the city (Manhattan) a lot--I notice a lot of people with Iphones--a lot more than I see w/ droids--not even close. But even more so, of the people I see with Iphones--I have to say about 75% do not have the iphone6/6s--they have earlier models---so im thinking when the 7 comes out, most of those people will upgrade. There really is not much of a change between the 6 and the 6s--i have the 6s. Most of the time I think people skip a phone cycle unless there is a big upgrade really worth going for. I think the same thing happened with the 5 to 5s. so from my observation the Iphone7 numbers should be pretty good--but what do I know--im just a regular dude.

  • Tax-Free Income From Municipal-Bond CEFs: A Closer Look  [View article]
for ny munis--i hold EVY, NRK, ENX, PNI, PZT....national munis i only hold MHI...looking to add another national muni cef..most likely will pick one that LEFT wrote about..prob either EIM or EIV...do you have any young kids? If so you can open a ny 529b for college and have a NY state tax deduction up to 5k per kid per year...10k max....technically---a smart person depending on how much tax-free divi recd from the muni-bonds--can fund the kids college acct for free with the divi--and get an additional tax credit as well---that's sort of what I do...feels good to actually screw the govt for once.....

hey left..nice article...I see no mention of MHI....any reason....it did take a little hit recently due to a divi cut....If one lives in NY..I suggest NRK..this is a ny specific muni bond cef that is also AMT FREE....I also hold EVY & PZT as well....to me holding these bond funds are like real estate properties..the divi is like rent that you get monthly...the cost of the fund aka amt you put into it, is the property..and that will always fluctuate...love the monthly income!!!

Ty for your insight and well written articles!!!

  • Utility CEFs For Defensive Income  [View article]
Very happy to see an article from you Left!! Where have you been? In the utilites sector, I went with BUI. Utilites is allways a great defensive play in my opinion, especially iid one thinks the economy will head south for a bit. People will not go out as much stay in and use alot of electricity!!! Another great and well written article!!!
