"A Conservative win would likely also see the U.K. heading to the polls again in 2017, voting on whether or not to remain part of the EU."
    "...remain...?" No, "...become..."
Pound Sterling is still the currency, I believe!
    However, this is interesting:

Seems people believe what they want to believe, then go looking for "facts" to support their beliefs, but not any facts that refute them.

A tour guide in Jerusalem pointed out to me a long time ago that the "eye of the needle" is actually the small door that is a people passageway in the lower part of a larger door that is for animal passage to get into a walled city or area. We went into the Temple Mount area via an "eye of the needle" if my memory serves me.

Suggest Secrets of the Dead Sea Scrolls by Price for a balanced, albeit in-depth, read on the scrolls. And a visit to St Catherines Greek Orthodox monastery at Mount Sinai if you really want to study ancient manuscripts.

I think I saw one of their drones at BestBuy the other day... not an inexpensive toy... there is a Chinese competitor that is high-end as well that aerial photographers use.
Next new tech area: drone counter-measures!

401k money inflows should keep this bull running for another quarter so long as earnings are ok. I agree with some of your observations but think your glass is half-full, so take a look at the positives too. Remember, it is still a market of stocks, so while the overall stock market may sway, its the individual players that bear watching!

@2hd & MD... yes there were WMDs and there were 10,000's of dead Kurds and Iranians throughout the 80's and there were lies about how many/types and the press took one side... lotsa examples of the press telling fibs (a recent newsman being the latest one!)

  • Is Cisco Really Back With A Vengeance? [View article]
    All IMO...
1~ neither current Pres will replace Chambers... both are too old.
2~ licensing model changes will be the next good time to get back into CSCO, or start nibbling now.
3~ Chambers did right by cleaning house and putting all DEV under one guy.
4~ further data center virtualization will require additional technical development in areas of security and testing. Expect more acquisitions.

@IT - did you ever see Harry Browne, who appeared from time to time on Howard Ruff's "Ruff Times" TV show back in the late 70's/early80's? I read one of his books back then in which he laid out 3 future scenarios. He favored the deflationary scenario... said it would likely come to pass in 30 years or so, as I recall. Here's a link to a book he wrote in 1970:
Bottom line: buy gold and silver! (That's GNT for my wife!)

  • Prospect Capital's Results For Fiscal Q2 2015 - My Assessment [View article]
Well-thought considerations, Scott. Thanks! While I still hold 3 other BDCs (and sold PSEC), IMO the concerns outweigh the advantages of owning PSEC.

Great work, Buzz.. great comments too. Netting it out: I sold PSEC (small loss). Will continue to hold FSC, PNNT & ARCC & will likely add MAIN and HTGC to my BDC folder soon. Most SA readers are familiar with longrundata but here's the link if you aren't:

DISH got a lot of spectrum, and now the clock is ticking for DISH. We'll see how well they execute, no doubt with a partner. IMO, there is room for 3 players in the industry, but T & VZ will continue to be the top-tier in terms of QoS, pricing and earnings.

I have to remind myself that good judgment comes from experience, and experience oftentimes comes from bad judgment. I did not buy TCAP a few years ago, but it is again looking interesting for a possible trade. Externally managed BDCs have a bit of a stink associated with them these days, but if they're producing income they are candidates for trading in my view. Thanks again... started following you... and I like Tennessee!

  • An Interview With Grier Eliasek, President And COO Of Prospect Capital [View article]
Always hard to go against the gut and buy low, huh? I may add to my PSEC position here as they seem to understand they shouldn't be going after riskier deals, and are willing to take a lower payment instead. Also looking closely at HTGC and MAIN. Long PSEC, PNNT, FSC & ARCC.
