historically gold has been portable wealth for asian people, in times of calamity you can grab it & run. you wear it around your neck, your fingers, your wrist. if you own a ton of it it is no longer very portable. you have to pay someone to store it for you, and no interest is earned. your storage company has probably charged you a commission to buy it, and will hit you with another commission if you wish to sell. i don't think you can take it to your grocery store & buy a grocery with it. > jack
