  • HCP, Inc.: This Problem Just Got Bigger [View article]
Thanks for this info. This supports my decision to keep and possibly add to my HCP position.

  • Norfolk Southern -3.9% after warning on profits [View news story]
I bought shares at $58 back then. Needless to say i would very much like that to happen again. Rail stocks don't come on sale very often and they haven't invented transporter beams yet.

  • A Frank Discussion On Royal Dutch Shell's Dividend [View article]
Stopped reading after your third bullet. Shell explicity wrote in its press release that it confirms its intention to pay 1.88 div in 2015 and at least as much in 2016. 12 comments and no one picked up on this. I guess your followers don't read press releases either? And for the uninformed, that's 3.76 per ADR.

Still not cheap enough. Share price would have to fall below $73 in order for the dividend yield to revert to its 5 year average.

  • Kraft Foods Group: A Buy Below $60 For The Long-Term Investor [View article]
Got in at $45.60 in 2012. Shares were yeilding 4.4%. With a dividend growth rate of 5% per year, which has been the case for the last 2 increases, I'm waiting for shares to yield north of 4% before adding...because long term return = initial yield + dividend growth rate.

I believe Kraft will provide great long term returns for those that don't over pay for shares.

  • Why Toymakers Are Leaving Mattel In The Dust [View article]
Mattel has great brands other than Barbie and Fisher Price. If they properly monitize them, I'm confident they could make a come back. Seeing blood in the streets, I picked up some shares for the long term. And a few days later, the CEO was gone, which made me a happier share holder. Only time will tell...

  • A Better Mattel Analyst Report [View article]
Almost bought HAS in 2012 @ $30 - it was hated back then. Just picked up MAT @ $27.18 - didn't want to make the same mistake twice.

  • JP Morgan Chase Is Down 4%: Disaster Or Opportunity? [View article]
    Good article.

Analyists smanalyists. They are often wrong in their predictions. The important question is where will this bank be in 10 years. Bought this during the London Whale crisis and never looked back. With a yield on cost of 4.7% and good longterm prospects, I'm in for the long haul.

  • Update: Walgreen Earnings Put The Green In Walgreen [View article]
The right time to buy WAG was when the stock was hammered after announcing the Boots Alliance deal in 2012. Everyone is WAG and CVS horney now, which means it's not the right time to buy. Long WAG @ 29. And long CVS @ 53.

  • Rogers Will Have A Difficult Time Attaining Wireless Operating Profit Growth [View article]
Good article. Guy Laurence recognizes that his customer service sucks the big one. If he can make it great, churn will take care of itself. Telus is a good example of this. Three months ago, I subscribed to Rogers cable, internet and landline. Their rep wanted my wireless business but was unwilling to make me a deal even though I was subscribing to three of their services. I renewed my contract with Telus and was able to negotiate an iPhone 5s for $35 instead of $100. Telus knows how to do business. Very long Rogers and Telus.
