        <![CDATA[Somehow, activist shareholders do not seem to be attracted to the stock, despite it being sold at a fraction to book value. Maybe, they feel that the mess the company had been driven into is too much for them to handle. If the SEC would not bother,as stated above, and no outside activist force will step in, the downward spiral will continue, unless RMR will reverse course, which is very doubtful under the circumstances. What a shame. And then the pundits wonder why the investor public, is shying away of the stock market. ]]>

Unless  a big activist shareholder will step in, the chances of a change are practically non existent, since the external management company has no incentive to alter a very lucrative arrangement for them.<br/>By the way, my impression is that the spun off companies are partially owned by the parent company, to which dividends are being paid.]]>
