  • Reports of escalation in Ukraine send markets south [View news story]
Ukraine doesn't claim to have shelled the "humanitarian" convoy, but an incursion by a Russian column of military vehicles instead. Also been reported that the Russians have shelled Ukraine troops across the border.

That said, the only thing sure so far is that nobody knows anything.

  • Pandora Grasping At Straws [View article]
P and Spotify hardly "compliment" each other. Ever since I started paying for Spotify several months ago I haven't listened to Pandora once. In fact, I deleted the app from my phone. I have found my experience is not unique, as just about everyone I know has done the same thing.

  • Pandora Has Power [View article]
Spotify is growing like a weed, and will definitely cut into P marketshare. I know 5 folks that within the last 3 months switched to Spotify and all rave about how much better it is (including me).

I'd be careful buying the stock of a company that has a competitor with a plainly superior product.

It appears that the major jump was not in homes, but in rental property starts. Single family home starts rose 0.8%.

Actually, Bush1 invaded Panama. Just for the sake of historical accuracy.

And FWIW, Panama is much much better off for it.

Garbage. Let's see where you head for healthcare if/when you get a serious illness. Good luck with that.

But, hey, at least you are correct: we need the government to get involved in every daily problem. Because it has been soooo effective at improving education, healthcare( gov't has been meddling since at least the 1950s), energy . . . .

I would think Daimler and Bosch easily have the political pull to force Tesla to include other manufacturers whether Tesla likes it or not.

  • Tesla: We've Got Some Numbers For February [View article]

You might appreciate technology, but you won't have the disposable income to afford a $70,000 car (or a $30,000 car for that matter), what with a 75% tax rate to pay for my Medicare. :)

Besides, we'll be teleporting around with our I-watches and Google glasses in 10 years anyway- making cars obsolete.

  • Russia escalates tensions over Ukraine [View news story]
Hogwash- Guantanamo is nothing like what Russia is doing in Crimea. First, the "uprising" to which you refer started in November, not 6-7 weeks ago, and was the result of Ukranians fearing a return to Russian control. They didn't face down snipers because the West promised them some cash.

Second, Russia has formally recognized the sovereignty of the Ukraine- that's why the Ukraine gave up their nukes. The US never recognized the legitimacy of Cuba's ruler. Last, Guantanamo is about 15 square miles in the middle of nowhere. Look at a map- your analogy is waaaay off.

Sure, Russia has a vested interest in the Crimea. So did Germany in Poland and France circa 1939.
