  • Cut Ken Lewis Some Slack - For Now [View article]
Felix Salmon writes too many articles per day to write anything with any substance in it. He might as well just tweet. As for Pandit, at least he's got a Far East connection for Citi where the real growth will come from. Ken Lewis tried to do the right thing too little too late.

i agree with truthteller, also if recovery takes longer, there will be new manipulations and one-offs to boost earnings in 2010. You think the manipulation is over? Might as well profit from it.

  • Ron Paul Confronts Fed About Gold Dealings [View article]
Hit publish a tad too quick.

A Ron Paul investigation, an unfettered, legitimate one would bring down the dollar as quick as the stock market was plummetting day by day this time last year.

  • Ron Paul Confronts Fed About Gold Dealings [View article]
I've been in full agreement with Ron Paul abolishing the Fed but there is no chance of disrupting the current world order. There is no chance that an audit will be allowed, and if so, roadblocks will put in the way, or the audit will be wide in scope but shallow in terms of depth.

The fact that Ron Paul has zoned in on a specific action, the US government intervening in the gold market by using other governments as intermediaries, would lead me to believe he already has a narrow scope and wants to get into details, thus, granting the right to audit the Fed at zero percent.

  • Is It Time to Recognize Reality? [View article]
While for intents and purposes the country is bankrupt, this realization across the world will take decades. So is there reason to be bearish? Absolutely. But if you think we're going to be hiding out in our fall out shelters with water and canned food and nobody is gonna make money in the market on quality or toxic assets you're mistaken.

  • E*Trade: Expect a Takeover Any Day Now [View article]
Citadel wants to keep them so they can be the facillator of etfc's transactions, it can generate a lot of revenue that way...takeover is unlikely but i like the turnaround story.

  • Spin at the FDIC [View article]
I think the real story is the WAMUQ's lawsuit against JPM and the FDIC. If a settlement is imminent then funds need to be made available to make whole the WM creditors.

  • It's Time to Sell Equities and Look to These 3 Areas [View article]
I for the most part agree with your premise on gold but I'm not an investor in it. If I concerned about hedging a weakening dollar I'd rather buy commodities, however volatile they are. Plus gold is simply not attractive at these valuations.

  • Is the Fed on Investors' Side? [View article]
If securities that are HTM are also marked to market i think there would be even more volatility, something we don't really need right now. Also, we're quickly approaching an era where are accounting rules need to be aligned with the rest of the world. The IASB will be taking on a bigger role in the coming years over FASB; well it will be coordinated.

  • One Year Since the Banking System Collapsed. Has Anything Really Changed? [View article]
Sadly I agree with your sentiments. The American people were hoodwinked once again. Can the war party have come up with a better candidate than Obama? Its like a match made in heaven. Its like firing the disciplinarian coach for a more player friendly one but not changing anything about strategy. It speaks to our ignorance, lack of knowledge, or lacking of giving a crap. We have 48% voter turn-out for a reason. We have been successfully distracted. Who cares what the gov't does, the NFL begins on Thursday.

  • Is the U.S. Dollar Finished? [View article]
USD is only going up if the market is going down. Do you expect a sharp pullback in equities which would trigger a rally in USD? Are you bearish on commodities? I don't think these things are likely. I can see a bounce but thats all it is.

  • The Case for Moving iTunes to the Cloud [View article]
I agree with you completely. I have a lot of shows and movies on my computer but had to buy an external 500G to accomodate what I have. I have like 200 G of video content on itunes. I like to take different shows and movies with me on my iphone. I also subscribe to netflix so if past seasons of my favorite show are available to view on my xbox such as the two you've mentioned, i dont bother with it on itunes. If Apple can make Apple TV prominent, I would like to see a catalog of certain shows and movies like Netflix available through streaming content for a subscription fee of say $9.99 a month.
