I take it you're implying that the US will cease to be the hegemonic empire it is today and will become less relevant in the future. Depending on our actions this might be the case but the one thing that is already certain is that the EU has too many competing interests among itself that it will find it impossible to speak in one voice and to agree on an action plan for the economy. To take it a step further, the EU is already irrelevant. The Middle East and Asia are way more important to the US going forward for the economy and other geo-political reasons. If you feel slighted, well you should feel that way because you have been slighted.
