  • Shift in U.S. - China Dialogue Is Louder than Words [View article]
The USA is not, and will not, be "swept aside" as easily as you presume, the US military still is the Arbiteur of Global power reach, and maintains a tenuous peace in extremely fractious corners of our planet. Without Americas overiding Military power in these regions, Ancient and deep enmities would again raise their head. Secondly America is the "Bread Basket" of the planet, and food is, and will become increasingly important. We also issue more scientific patents than anyother Nation, "right off America at your peril!

  • Why This Is No Time for Buy and Hold [View article]
Dear Fritz, I hope that are well as have not read anything of yours for some time now.Nice Article about being cautious, always good advice, my thoughts are that the Fed.Res will initiate a devaluation of the dollar as this policy will erode the real National debt, and make our exports cheaper. they have nothing left in their Armoury. and for the Cloward-Piven strategy, enlightening....thank you

  • Bullish Engulfing Experiments [View instapost]
Great job Mike, unfortunately I understand very little of T/A so am unable to comment much on the subject, you though, appear to have done your homework on this much debated topic, and come to certain conclusions based on observation and experience. I am under the impression it is only useful when used in conjuntion with Fundamentals? Still whatever your doing, concerning the "Pawlewski program" carry on it appears to be working. And "congrats" on reaching the top spot, I had a feeling you would end up thier!.

  • Demographic Headwinds Hitting Harley-Davidson [View article]
Great work BAM, extremelly interesting piece, and good insight as regards the Demographic timeline, I was not cognizant of the issue of the [Generation x] love of smaller 125cc bikes, as opposed to Harleys larger engines, which being more attractive to Boomers.Effectively thier would appear little that H/D can do, to off/ set the protracted series of problems that you have highlighted in this, to me, excellent piece.

  • The Economist on the Failure of Economics [View article]
The term of Economist, has become synonymous with that of "half-wit" or "incompetent", as a palpable lack of prescience or vague ability to predict even the next few qtrs, let alone total Financial meltdown as engendered in me, a feeling of Disdain for this lofty body!

  • GE Results Validate Theory: Severe Economic Contraction [View article]
Its not all bad, accepted GE is very " Industrialcentric" for this particular stage of the economic cycle, and will suffer as a result going forward, as an entity, the company is to diverse and could beneifit from being split into its divergent sectors. The American GDP is too be, benignly affected by the estimated drop in the Fiscal Deficit of approx 350b dollars in 2009, and will result in a further 2.5% added to the GDP figures. The fact of having outsourced so many Manufactoring jobs abroad, may have saved us prolonged pain,as the unemployment figures would been worse!

  • Four Factors Favoring Turkey's ETF [View article]
The Demographics favour [tur] also, having a healthy proportion of the population under 30, and eventual adhesion to the EU would act as a motor for internal growth, unfortunately France, and Austria, are still very vocal in their denial of full membership, citing irrevicable differences in Culture and Outlook.Turkey is, and will continue to be an excellent Investment area in the Medium to long term.

  • Game Over, CIT [View article]
[CIT] apparently provides "factoring services" to over a million sme, Nationwide, with [cit] proably filing for Chapter 11 friday, will this not initiate further bankrupcies as a liquidity crisis rears its head, on already distressed small companies, seems to me if your "big enough" or "politically hooked up" you will be fine, for every else well thats too bad! Just does not seem to be any joined up thinking in goverment looking at the overall picture?
