  • Food Ingredients Take Center Stage For Solazyme [View article]
There =is= some trademark confusion afoot, unfortunately.

"Thrive Algae" is a solazyme trademark. Hence "Thrive Algae" oil and "".

Unfortunately, there is some other organization promoting "Thrive" oils for shaving creams, etc. - which is the first google hit you get if you just enter "thrive" without adding "algae".

Yes, "my bad", IMO, for whatever consultant convinced Solazyme to anchor to the "thrive" name (albeit confusingly only in combination with "algae").

Here's a Forbes article forecasting 2016 food trends, with a nice nod to Solazyme products:

"...In 2016 we will see new kinds of proteins that are more sustainable and affordable than animal sources. Algae, nuts, vegetable, yeast and even insects will be used as ingredients to up the protein punch and we will see development of new healthier profiles such as Thrive – a cooking and salad oil made from algae that has 75% less saturated fat than olive oil and has the highest level of monounsaturated fat."

I think they might already be found on amazon; in any event the oil can be bought from Solazyme's Thrive-branded website:

Thank you, txpe2003. And FloTek had seemed such a respectable company...

Yes, I hope this gets sorted out and SZYM's Encapso does not get whiplashed and tarnished by this FTK mess and that the PRODUCT involved is limited to FTK's proprietary materials.

    Very long SZYM...

I thought it was an excellent CC giving us a Santa Clause bag's worth of good news.

Having "missed" on the quarter's earnings and revenues obviously distressed a few folks, as this morning's nail-biting decline demonstrated.

I believed that the value of the company was much stronger with the news than before, and the stock price recovery - indeed now turning into a strong thrust upward - thankfully validates this sanguine view.

Solazyme is going to be GIGANTIC over the next years and beyond and remains presently an incredible stock-and-technology purchasing opportunity.

Three cheers for SZYM!!~ [And, as ever, kudos and appreciation to Kevin Quon for diligently following and reporting on the company.]

Freya (and APH), I disagree: ePower and Axion having been linked at the hip at one point, especially with CircusMeister JP as the fulcrum, makes all three interesting to continue following, IMO.

[Subtract 1 from your "likes" - mine was an accident!]

  • Solazyme Begins Selling Its First Food Oils [View article]
MikeTesla, I don't see any news pointing to availability of any new Solazyme information on Monday/Tuesday.

What is it you are referring to?

I am very long SZYM, having achieved my maximum position, but am looking forward to further thrusts upwards and de minimis stock price movement downwards! [What gains I've achieved have already been deployed elsewhere.]

I share your sanguine outlook for Encapso.

RA: "If Rugged is suggesting that he invested based on the ePower 10-14 claim but would not have invested in Axion or invested as much at a mere 9 mpg I find that to be not believable."

Although it should be pretty clear from my history of postings (and even from my posting above), I am not making the assertion you (gratuitously, IMO) posit.

JP: "ePower's former CEO [made] some fairly extravagant claims before I was [brought] in to serve as counsel in the summer of 2013. Once I completed my due diligence the claims got far more accurate."

John, had you contemporaneously made such a significant delineation (and repudiation of earlier representations), as you've now so succinctly done, above, I would have remembered such a remarkably noteworthy transition and it may have saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars of losses on this dog, Axion, by possibly gaining insight for me to bail earlier.

    You didn't.

Lawyerly you may point out that your claims made subsequently may have been more moderate, but you NEVER timely repudiated the earlier claims as you now so blithely recite.

It seems to me you sought to cover your behind while DELIBERATELY continuing to permit the fraudulent aura stoked by the earlier claims to stand and deceive investors.

And to think, your RELENTLESS Pied Piper pumping had me, and the large cadre of "Axionistas", so 'mesmerized' by year-end 2012 that I characterized (and touted) you as a "lawyer-technologist whose expertise is highly regarded in the battery industry and who I have come to trust." That was a BIG, BIG, BIG, mistake...

I saw my first ever DTC TV ad for _Toujeo_ this past evening (Philadelphia market)...

[I didn't listen carefully - initially I didn't know what the ad was - but of what I heard, its cited negatives sounded more prominent than any affirmative reasons for using it.]

    > why has BMW, as far as we know, taken a pass on the PbC?

    Say, what?!!

As far as shareholders have been informed, BMW still decamps to New Castle twice a month (or maybe it's every two months)... [Damn, those New Castle shrimp are gooooood!]
