Scot: I think you are missing a key point about limited inventory. Almost all of these products are housed at the manufacturers location. All any of these merchants do is drop ship items from the manufacturer. Therefore you have a commodity item once you know the UPC number. So if Walmart, Amazon or anyone else is not putting some kind of a warranty or backing up the product why buy it from them? An example of a different kind of retailer would be Costco, who allows you to return whatever you buy via their website back to one of their stores if you are not happy. (90 day limits on TV's & Computers). You shouldn't buy anything online without asking yourself the question "What if I have to return it?"
