Ford's Electric Car for 2011: One for the Masses? [View article]
Boy talk about lipstick on a pig. They pick the Ford Focus as the proto-type? I got one as a rental at Avis once and from that point on told the rental agent to remove that car from my profile. A truely terrible car. At least the Chevy Volt is somewhat stylish.
We have yet to see if these dollar streched people who had to have an NEW car (rather than used) but couldn't afford the down payment will make their auto payments. Oh well if not they can just go to Uncle Barney Frank for a bailout.

The major problem with this program is the $4500.00 credit should have been in the form of a tax rebate off an individuals 2009's W-2. In that way only legitimate taxpayers would get the credit and the illegal aliens would get nothing. This eliminates all the freeloaders.

What this is a good thing? Another competitive advantage given to GM at the expense of Ford. Whatever happened to free market captialism? Welcome to socialism under Barry O.

I had to say it but because both Chrylser and GM did not undergo a true Bankruptcy but rather a Federal Sponsored & Designed Re-organization nothing has changed. A REAL Bankruptcy is in the future for both of these companies.

DancingDad, How do you know the people getting the rebate pay any US Income Taxes at all? This program was set up wrong from the beginning. The Credit should not have come off the Net Purchase Price of the Vehicle but should have come in the form of a flat $3500 or $4500 credit off income taxes paid by the individual on a 1040. That way the people who really do pay taxes get a credit and the freeloaders don't get any handout at Taxpayers expense.

How is this a good thing? Chrysler now giving away nine thousand dollars in tax payer money. What a joke. And Ford, gets screwed no Gov't money to hand out.
Wow: Keep an eye on GM is like saying look over Barack Obama's shoulder. What they hell can they due the Gov't owns them 100% right now until they issue stock which will happen about the same time we have National Health Care. Which will be NEVER.
