Forget $100 a Barrel - Oil Will Plummet to $30

When the former CEO of BP retired a few years ago, he was asked about the future of oil. He said that in five years, the price of oil would be so low that gas would be about 1 dollar per gallon.

Back then, I thought he was nuts, but with all the hydrogen fueled cars and alternative energy sources starting to bust loose, I can see where he might have been right on.

In fact, I can imagine a day where gasoline powered cars are either outlawed or that they become so unpopular as to be unwanted. The day may come when gasoline stations are a thing of the past. That might be far off, but buck-a-gallon gasoline could happen within three years, and that would be right in line with what the retiring CEO predicted.

He was the head of BP, so unless he was joking or went nuts, it could well happen.
