BP (BP) plans to repurchase $8B in shares after the completion yesterday of the sale of its 50% stake in TNK-BP to Rosneft, following which BP was left with $12.5B in cash and a 19.75% stake in the Russian oil major. Cisco (CSCO) is downgraded to Sell at FBR Capital, which says the company will find it difficult to offset weakening router and switching demand. Negative tech trends "could significantly blur the lines between routers, switches, AND servers." FBR throws in a downgrade of Juniper Networks (JNPR) as well. Both are down more than 1% premarket. @Mking30, Are you referring to a large increase in Price per share, or referring to $CSCO becoming a nice dividend growth stock for an income seeking portfolio ?

I also think that this could be an opportunity to initiate or increase a position in CSCO for the long term Div Growth investor. My avg cost is @ 19.01. This will also help to get a few more shares with the upcoming dividend reinvestment.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR): FQ3 EPS of $0.52 beats by $0.02. Revenue of $869M (+21% Y/Y) misses by $4M. Lowers FY13 EPS estimate to $2.55-$2.60. Earnings CC scheduled for 5:00 PM EST. (webcast) Shares halted AH. (PR) [View news story]
Shares of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR -2.9%) can't shake off that losing feeling as they dip below the $20 mark. This week's headaches for management include the news that single-serve competition is around the corner from Kroger and Safeway, while the overriding theme on GMCR is that the company hasn't solved the issue of what it will do to counter the patent expirations (I, II) that are around the corner. I agree with the idea of DRIP'ing and buying, but I am in the process of transitioning from a mutual fund Simple IRA investor to a self directed DGI investor ion an IRA. I have been DGI for the last year in a taxable account to better understand the process and develop my plan with the aid of many on this site. I hope to establish some more core positions with better entry points then continue to add. I have 16 positions and am looking to get a basket of 30-33 DG stocks. As I am only 42!!
Very thoughtful a usefull article. I agree with much of it The key is to be consistent, have a plan and buy when prices are right. Keeping dry powder is nice because I do feel that the next 2-3 months will present great buying opportunities in some of the stocks mentioned above!!!
