I think the dynamics of this spin-off are somewhat different than the typical, not only because of the company but because of the situation. Refer to KBR- before HAL had spun off all of the shares. I think there is also a descent 3-way arbitrage opp.

Are you able to covert more than 19 shares? For instance if I own 300 shares am I able to convert all of them if I do not wish to own the "new" shares?

Nice note. You should look into the effects of the recent AICPA change on alternative investments. Many endowments are having trouble getting full audits completed as a result of the exotic derivatives and lack of exposure data. This sector reminds me of Soros's reflexivity theory, the AICPA could be the event that changes the underlying bias on these stocks.
