2 years ago I was in RIM: It was a good investement. But I quit for several reasons. Head always focus to buy an hockey team, Head sold lot of shares, Company react at the Iphone...

I switched to Apple because (One or 2 campany in the portfolio : Graham), Jobs hasn't pay (Dividend pay : Buffet). Iphone has is own OS. (Iphone is almost extraterestrial) Iphone was following (still following) the same pattern than the Ipod. Market share of Mac was always up. Apple's product share is only 2 to 4% so lot of room to grow. Apple always (~10 years) post growing earning to previous quarter year ago(Buffet). Apple has niche products. Apple make amazing products. Apple had 24 billion dollars (now ~34) in cash and no debth. Apple is not only a phone company, but also computer and entertainement (not a one trick pony).
Of course Buffet said, don't pay to much for a company. But he says also don't invest in a company that you don't understand...
Why not invest in Google (Android) cause is just an OS (very similar to MSFT) , Google doesn't make direct money. Advertise on the net is a risky business.
Nokia? They just react to Iphone like RIM.
