    • Corning: Looking Very Cheap [view article]
I just bought yesterday. Given the fact that there is a switch to digital transmission in the US from Feb 2009, consumers will naturally think of upgrading their TV sets. And my thesis is that they would move to flat panels which would benefit GLW. I see this back to the mid $20s by year end around holiday shopping season. Good time to pick this up cheap now. • Tata Plant Protest Demonstrates Indian Identity Crisis [view article]
Good article...shows why India is different from communist China where the land is just taken and the people's protests are quelled somehow.
India's fiery grassroot politicians and free press doesn't allow that.
But the govt is to be blamed for this fiasco since there is enough non-agricultural land (think rocky/hilly areas) which can levelled to make way for industry while preserving farmland. Hopefully, this incident will do good for India in the future with more balanced policies

    • Market Gets Nervous About LCD Panels [view article]
This news is priced in. GLW was already slaughtered from $28 in Mid may to $20. People of course over-react and sell things off when analysts just re-jig old data. This stock is attractive on a valuation basis and should go back up to $24 by Dec-end on holiday shopping. Sep 03 09:28 AM
    • Infosys: Moving Up the Consulting Food Chain [view article]
INFY is going to be in the doldrums as it tries to diversify out of the US. Europe - where Axon is based - too is now experiencing a slowdown.
The stock is highly priced even after the july earnings disappointment and is now in a downtrend. This stock should move back to the 30s and stay there for the next year.

    • Libor Once Again Signals Tighter Credit [view article]
Isnt LIBOR the London interbank rate? doesn't it reflect the market conditions in UK more than the US?
I think the US - once the Fannie/Freddie issue is figured out - comes out looking better than the UK.
I think being long the dollar is the play here atleast till the year end.

    • New ETFs on India and Nasdaq Indexes - How Will They Fare? [view article]
It's unfair to compare performance in this market, esp for EPI which is out for just 6 months.
I think India is a great play for the long-term future and investors having a 3-5 year horizon will do well, just as in IFN.
I am bullish on India and if the elections next year bring back the Dr. Singh govt, things would really be bullish. Keep an eye out for this.

    • Still Bullish on Salesforce.com [view article]
I do believe in SaaS but dont know why CRM is so OVER-priced.
I agree their sales growth is strong but they need to be growing at a growth rate of 100% to meet their forward P/E valuations of 98!!! (this was before this earnings drop).
I am happy being short... this should be near $30 not $60.

    • In Support of Potash Corp.'s Projected 2008 Gross Margin Increase [view article]
these type of stocks has almost nothing to do with "value". It has become a momentum stock and it will ONLY go up when the hedge fund managers like its taste again (which is when the commodity prices shoot up again). Till then, this is dead money. Aug 24 09:10 AM
    • Will UltraShort ETFs Experience Whiplash Again? [view article]
Buy puts on SKF. I think once the Fannie/Freddie uncertainty is over, this stock is gonna drop like a rock below 100. Aug 22 09:16 AM

This stock should be half where it is now. Most shorts will be salivating at this HIGH P/E. get out while you can. Aug 22 09:14 AM
    • Cheap Chindian Cars and High Priced Oil Don't Mix [view article]
This is a simple supply and demand issue... dont complicate matters.
Already the Nano demand is beyond supply... and that is even before the car has launched!!!
TTM is projected to make a profit if they can sell over 45K cars / years.
This is the chance to get on board a quality company which will own the Indian market (both the low and high end of the spectrum).
My target for TTM is $18 by year end when the Nano launches.

    • ICICI Bank: Unwarranted Beating, Proven Growth Prospects [view article]
IBN was a classic case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Its a great value at these prices and since now the Indian govt doesnt have the Communists to hamper them, they can push through banking and insurance reforms before the next election.
This will be HUGE for IBN and I think this will be back to $50 by year end.

    • Outlook for the Indian Economy [view article]
      Excellent article...thanks for the analysis.
I believe in the Indian market for the long term but as the previous post has mentioned, short term its about the politics.

If the current Congress party come back to power, its great news.
If not, the bets are off and might be rocky progress. So wait and watch. Till then, you can dip your toes by buying IBN / HDB on pullbacks
