WOW you guys like the T.Boone plan!!!! Did any one go and sign up? No legitimate policies will be made by gov't. Money talks and with T. Boone's following, big things could happen.

    Check out my idea.

  • U.S. Geothermal, Inc: A Solid Geothermal Pure Play [View article]
I have always thought geotherm is a great way to produce energy. Too bad it is in the embryonic stages. We could probably get all of our electricity from it. Sorry old faithful.

You are funny alpha24seven. Tell those "serious thoughts" to put down the wine bottle and pick up a geology report..... thats classic.

Here is a number...$700 billion for foriegn oil. Its called research boys. Gas engines used to have a hundred times less efficiency per horsepower than today. If the gov't would subsidize solar instead of making us buy their oil, solar efficiency would increase big time.

Anyone think the pickens plan will get us there??

  • $200 Oil: Before Decade's End, Not Year's [View article]
Shame on me cause I haven't done the math but 200,000 greenies is probably relative to our 5k when comparing our population difference and the amount of manufacturing they do. Its not just making cars efficient, its making the process of making cars efficient.

One thing is for certain, Bush will make sure oil stays above $100 before he leaves. Their pumping the money back in right now, keep your house....so you can pay for your gas guzzler!! The timing is not a coincidence..

  • $200 Oil: Before Decade's End, Not Year's [View article]
China has shut off the "machine" for improved air quality for the olympics. The streets were empty the week before the games started. After August 24th, China will start everything back up and oil will continue going up.

I wish alternatives weren't linked so tight to oil too. Its ridiculous.

  • Crunching the Numbers: It's Not a Recession [View article]
I agree, everyone keeps calling a bottom but I don't see anyone landing on their feet. More like upside down along with their mortgages.

  • Chesapeake Energy: Natural Gas Supply Responds to Price [View article]
Henry Ford didn't care that there were no gas stations for his car. If we build NG cars, someone will build a gas station. High oil and a bad economy make it more feasible. BTW its already here, check out CMI and WPIVF, they are convert all the trucks in the port of long beach to NG. Once they have it perfected they just need smaller models of engines.

  • The Housing Bill: Uncle Sam Is Moving Into the Spare Bedroom [View article]
Bon Jovi left Jersey in the late 80's. You should have followed him. And your whining about 20% mexicans? Try So Cal @ 60%. We bitch about the illegals who do our dishes, but we are way too cheap to pay a real citizen to do some work. If we paid double for lawn care and restaurants using citizens we wouldn't even feel it cause the money would stay in our country. You can give mexico a $100 or the US $200.

My thoughts exactly, but it doesn't look that good when I write it down cause I'm not a "professional analist". Hey, there seems to be some loose ends to the gov't buy out deal. They also share profits? Til when? Giving the keys back sounds easy and economical but will gov't buy out really save people? It sounds like a trap. I would still walk a way. Remember the guys who drafted this deal are the same ones who let it spiral out of control. I would not bite on this hook.

If banks wrote down all their loans to 90% of the actual values of properties, it would be a better deal than having them all foreclose. Why do they need a bill to tell them that? They are banks, they are supposed to be good at math.

Don't be mistaken! This bill is not made for any homowners, it is for the banks and politicians which seem to be blending together quite well.

They are getting one last dig on the taxpayer's money and at the same time...... securing Obama's election.

Oh yeah, when the gov't owns all the property and the banks....don't they call that communism?

Here is an idea to help our baffled govt solve the economic problems.... Bring the troops home and have them secure OUR borders (a hundred thousand should do just fine). Mine, drill, windmill, and solar all the energy we need to achieve energy independence. All while putting money and jobs in our pockets, not with all the guys who want to kill us.

  • More Bad News for the Anti-Ethanol Crowd [View article]
I don't think ethanol is really viable but I think every option to lessen dependency is exactly that --- an option. And everyone whines about "its only makes up 5%", but if you add up 5 or 10 options that are 5% each, thats 25 to 50%!! We need to get creative and the current people running the country are anything but. Even if ethanol is not a bust, the Busheez will make sure to block it with higher taxes, inflating the food prices, and basically lying to everyone. But they don't have a track record of lying to people to sell or war for oil, do they? We need to take the shotgun approach at energy to solve this.

  • Foreclosure Contagion [View article]
Yeah, while teaching our citizens a lot of bad investment practices. I don't think the gov't should be allowed to do anything with the mortgage industry. If you dig around you'll find the mortgage companies were hiring retired congressmen and senators to lobby for them and not let rules be inducted on mortgage practices and allow prices to be overstated for loans. If your wondering were all that money has gone, it is in the pockets of a bunch of politicians and it looks like their circling the wagons to try and pick up some more.

If they were the ones who got us in this mess, why are we letting them try to get us out? The gov't is notoriously inefficient at managing money. Home prices are falling either way. Why do we need to pay for a bill that will end up with the same result and at the same time let washington get there hands on our money again. And for all those poor people who will loose their home: GO RENT AN APARTMENT AND START SAVING, YOUR BASICALLY RENTING THE HOUSE YOU LIVE IN FOR DOUBLE ANYWAY!
