Bank Of America: Ignore Advice To 'Avoid' [View article]
Good title, good article. Paul Miller has been negative on the big banks, particularly BAC, for years now. He's always looking in the rearview mirror. And he's been wrong. Very wrong. I put him in the same camp as Meredith Whitney. Big talk, big hat, no cattle.
Buffett said recently that 'Bank of America has a great underlying business and its stock price will be meaningfully higher in years to come.'

"How long can Chesapeake Energy climb like this?"
The answer is a very long time, if you actually look at assets and undervaluation, and the fact that one of the savviest investors on the planet have huge stakes and thinks it's greatly undervalued. In short, over a period of 3-5 years, it will be multiples of where it trades today.
Your question is actually ridiculous, with it's blatant implication of negativity.

tabby,
Yes good point. Agreed. Driving looking in the rearview mirror is a common fault of 'investors'.

Mason Hawkins predicts CHK will triple. I am not in disagreement.

Bank Of America Is A Better Buy After Santa's Visit [View article]
There's still significant upside for BAC in coming years, but the time to buy was a year ago when the stock hit $5-6. With Buffett backstopping and Berkowitz shouting from the rooftops about its deep value characteristics, it was the perfect contrarian buy.
Now that the fog of uncertainty has lifted, the stock has doubled, and the herd are getting on board, even the clueless Meredith Whitney.

jl, Let me spell it out in simple language: Icahn bought in the low 20s at the end of 2010 and sold out a few months later in the low-to-mid 30s. He made fast and substantial profit and everyone knows it (apart from you clearly). End of story.

You're therefore talking rubbish. The facts are clear. Whether you're capable of understanding them is not. If you choose to ignore them it's entirely your business.
