This Peak Oil issue is a 120 % probability and Dr. M King Hubbert nailed the USA peak of 1970 and predicted a world peak at about now. He will get a Noble Prize for this some day. The USA has never reversed its peak oil date of 1970 and is still going down every year effectively.
