I own some SLV, but it seems that in the short term, deflation still rules the day. I've read more than one article preaching short term deflation followed by hyper inflation as the gov't + Fed try to stop the stagflation. Mark mentions the hyper inflation part, but I don't see anyone talking about the short term deflation that we've been experiencing.
My immediate thought regarding this article is that there are probably lots of lawyers and doctors who make more than $100k/year. Probably mostly depends on what part of the country.

You're right of course: The 12 month performance of SPY is down about 35% while SSO is down about 65%. It's up to investors to decide if that's big enough of a difference, I guess.
