Tom thanks for the response. net ECUs still remain at historically high levels even though under pressure. Are you able to calculate some sort of eps estimate from different ECU prices? lets say fell to $450?
The move at St Gab appears to have been an excellent move and worth the investment. With the price of oil rising so shall the price of shipping which should quickly pressure less of that chinese caustic soda supply....should help alleviate any supply issues.
why did you sell some down at these levels?
No pension funding, solid balance sheet and earnings holding up reasonably well in a most diffcult environment makes for interest.
Normally, this company has low cash maintenance requirements someting in the range of like $60 mil with $80 mil of dep so this is favorable...not incl the yearly $20 mil + remediation liab.
A solid fcf generator. Unfortunately i do not see housing getting anywhere near the activity we had in those crazy bubble days so demand may not come back to those sky high levels in the housing or auto business. However, bleach and winchester maybe able to close some of the gap as they continue to grow along with some strategic tuck in acquisitions. This one at $10 would sure look real good imo.

Tom, Sokol of Berkshire remarked that the economy was not turning and would not turn until probably around 2011. So the housing recovery you may be anticipating may come beforehand due to the cliff diving permits and new builds, but I do not expect it to be a v shaped type after an intitial burst.what % of the business is housing related? bleach related?
the company is at the same price since early 1990's. What value has been built over 2 decades? it appears the cashflow be thrown off has been squandered over the years.
