More proof that minutes are dead. VoIP is a low consumer of bandwidth. The future of Mobile service is connectivity + some application platform.
Not sure how you mean Google Voice is not VoIP? Inherently, if the Google Voice app is communicating via IP from the iPhone to some switch somewhere, it is still VoIP. VoIP does not mean all IP all through the call. For the most part, any VoIP originating or terminating call hits a traditional switch, trunk, or other gateway when it travels internetwork. Hardly anyone peers.

I work in/around next gen tech and have been prototyping technology for some time. The frustrating thing is that all of these cool things are possible now, and quite easy to pull together on a small scale. The problem comes with quality control in the field. If the market isn't big enough, it becomes too expensive to maintain the buildout and companies die. Anyway, I my point is that you have a lot of speculation here and you may be in on the ground floor, but it is very risky. Most of these are established players. I like ADBE and AMZN. AMZN will prosper either way, and ADBE seems to be the technology that makes sense for most media moving forward.

Options Trader: Thursday Outlook

I believe the run up in oil had a ton to do with the financials. When money flowed out of financials, it had to go somewhere, and not everyone runs to treasuries. I think it all flowed to oil (and other commodities). You may call this speculation, but I do not accept the fact that this was pure speculation, I think it had a lot to do with rotation and a huge confirmatory bias on bullish oil news. I made a lot of money on the pairs trade long financials, short oil in the last week due primarily to some extremes on the Chaikin Money Flow indicator (and playing the VIX:TNX spike). I am flat now, except for some small Puts on the USO.
On some of the other comments, I favor a return to the mean in almost any case. People, both conservative and liberal, go too far to the extremes, and I will wait patiently to bet on the return to the mean.
