    • Paul@Jersey: $ALU decline seems more related Europe. Also could just be some analysts setting up shorters to drive the price down-like with $MU

    • Andreas Hopf: $ALU already down again 2% in Europe. Here, the Deutsche Bank downgrade is taken seriously. The sentiment is very negative suddenly.

    • Andreas Hopf: $ERIC similarly lackluster. Storytelling in news is that ALU, ERIC and NOK have a very hard time with China growth stopping. Also, there...

    • Andreas Hopf: ...is profit-taking, because the overall market is in a less good shape and several report along the lines that the big decline is imminent.

    • Andreas Hopf: Last month storytelling was: 4G/LTE growth is inevitable. Now storytelling is: not so soon. I think, everything IT is in Limbo now.

    • Andreas Hopf: It's called "snus" and is forbidden in the EU outside Sweden and soon in Asia, too : (
      Jan 10, 5:41 AM
    • jamesingram32: you bought a lot of snus after the ALU drop :p no seriously, I respect your judgement, hence the question.

    • jamesingram32: ALU wiped out my AAL gains yesterday, when we agreed on the sanity or lack of this move. we may have to wait till results to quash this

    • Andreas Hopf: I continue, occasionally, accumulating companies I believe in. I will actually hold $AMD through earnings this time again and read the call.
      Jan 10, 6:29 AM
    • jamesingram32: sadly I had to bump my AMD to buy bbry, which has worked out OK though. Would love to have AMD as well...need more money :)
      Jan 10, 6:47 AM
    • jamesingram32: I will follow AMD o that. When is the call?
      Jan 10, 6:47 AM
    • Andreas Hopf: 21st Jan.
      Jan 10, 8:04 AM
    • jamesingram32: thanks.

    • jamesingram32: so these big downgrades just before earnings as as suspect as ever
      Jan 10, 10:17 AM
    • BruceLee1984: alu usually has there best quarter in Q4 with margins, thats why this downgrade makes no sense. look back in alu's history of earnings.
      Jan 10, 10:29 AM
    • BruceLee1984: and with the shift plan in full swing and the contracts from china and such i think alu will have a good quater, its q1 in may thats usually
      Jan 10, 10:29 AM
    • BruceLee1984: a low point for alu....bernstein has always been bearish for the most part on alu. I just cant believe the stock is doing this poorly off

      Jan 10, 10:42 AM
    • jamesingram32: oh yeah, thanks for the reminder Bruce. Is there a recent up date on these sorts of holdings?
      Jan 10, 10:49 AM
    • jamesingram32: btw...probably should have kept powder dry, ...but I topped up the March called a little this afternoon, at 40 cents
      Jan 10, 10:50 AM
    • BruceLee1984: I remember posting i thought a link here a while back that disclosed blackrock bought around 240 million alu shares. i got the link from
