ebay's coupon promotion is a scam.

They advertise a discount code and after you buy and try to use it, it doesn't work.

They send you to paypal's customer service who sends you back to ebay.

Most people just give up and buy the item without the discount.

This is ebay's exact motive. Like offering rebates except never paying them.
