  • Doubling Down on Continued Weakness in Real Estate, Financials [View article]
Well done. I disagree but that's why markets exist.

    Apologies for coming across harsh.

    "...exasperates the inevitable"

You mean "exacerbates," which means to "increase the severity."

And it's not really "doubling down" that you are advocating here.

When did you put this trade on? You would have made a shitload if you did it before this week's tumble but somehow I don't think you did.

  • Headed For a Normal 20-30% Correction [View article]
When people look backwards to see whats coming they often forget that our markets today have evolved. I am in no way saying that large corrections are no longer possible; what I am saying is that any analysis that reads "we will see big corrections because we saw them before" is overly simplistic. So, what was "normal" in the past is not necessarily what we can expect in the future. It seems obvious but when everyone's looking for explanations and making predictions it is easy to forget that past results are not indicative of future performance.

  • John Hussman: Long-Term Investors Should Be Disturbed by This Market's Rich Valuations [View article]
The market may be overvalued. But notice he hasn't said this is a top.

This is interesting information but it is hardly actionable, so what value does it have?

  • Analyst Bearishness Reaches Multi-Year High [View article]
I haven't been around too long but I like a bull market where everyone's bearish a lot more than a bull market where everyone's bullish. I think there's something to say for sentiment as an indicator.

If the market's going up when everyone doesn't think it should then I guess there's something fundamental going on here.

  • Why I Disagree With Bernanke [View article]
Remember... Bernanke is looking at the economy, not the stock market. You keep talking about the optimism for the stock market, with a short term time horizon. Bernanke is talking about the long-term health of the economy. Although there are similarities, you are talking about two different things.
