Debt is the chains of modern day slavery. With all the temptations of shiny new cars, cool new gadgets and easy money with credit cards, yes do we live in a culture of debt. But, if you recognize what unhealthy debt is and try to minimize it, you can unshackle those chains and declare your own independence day! xmplary.blogspot.com/2...
Anything that the government would do is to bail out the big banks at the expense of the taxpayers. Government doesn't care about the poor families loosing their dream homes, just doing the lip service till the elections are over. In the mean time, educate yourself as to what your options are if you or some one you know are facing foreclosure. My site has links to foreclosure prevention info at http:\xmplary.net
The Rise and Fall of the Subprime Mortgage [View article]
I have to agree with John. I think these loans were made to take advantage of people who didn't know the full implications of what they were getting into. It is really sad that the tax payers are going to be put out to bail out these large corporations while the poor families that were put into this situation are loosing their homes to foreclosure.
Was That a Bottom? Should We Even Care? [View article]
I don't know if it was the bottom, but I'm glad there's a stop on naked shorting. It was being used for nothing, but to steal steal cheap shares from weak hands.
Will the Fed 'Disappear' in the Next Decade? [View article]
All that the Fed has ever done, and will ever do is screw tax payers by bailing out bad bets by banks. I would hope that the Fed would disappear sooner than later.
ForeclosureS.com: One Million Foreclosures By Year's End [Housing Tracker] [View article]
Georgia has been hit hard with foreclosures as well. Unfortunately, the bad economy, corporate losses, dollar's slide in value, high gas prices, and this being an election year aren’t helping any. I think this trend will continue for some time. With the slide in the dollar's value, one would normally expect everything to go higher, but the housing has been doing the exact opposite, which tells me that once the market corrects itself, housing will offer exceptional returns for those willing to take the long term view. As for the future and this being an election year, at least we can only hope for the better; after all, can we have a worse president than what we have now?

Adding Wood to Your Portolio: A Worthwhile Investment [View article]
As an investment this may be good, but is this the right thing to for the environment? At a time when we are seeing increased natural disasters across the globe, cutting down more trees may not be the best solution :-(
Oil at $140/Barrel: Justified or a Bubble? [View article]
Regardless of it being justified or a bubble, we have to learn to cut back on the oil indulgence. We need better mass transportation options, better fuel efficient vehicles and research into alternative fuels. Dependence on oil is only going to make us all slaves!
