You are right, there is too little deregulation. In other words, let airlines fail, not hang around forever in a bankrupt status, and undercut other better run airlines, which still have to pay their bills, and thus forcing the well run airlines into financial distress. Quit subsidizing new entrant airlines because of perceived cheaper fares, quit giving away slots and traffic developed by older airlines, to new entrants. How many communities have given grants to airlines to enter their markets, ignoring carriers who have been there, invested there, have local citizens working there. Take the handcuffs off, and let all compete freely.
