Falling Commodity Prices Could Burst The U.S. Farmland Bubble [View article]
I live in farm country, the local AG tv shows say they are looking for $3 corn later this year. And some of the big acreage farmers are selling now at what they think is the "top" and say they will buy back at 75% discount. Hard to believe that some are buying at $13 K per acre. It was $2500 5 years ago.

Have been watching LNN and VMI for awhile. Don't see the reason for drop, unless they feel that since corn is projected to fall due to overabundance (I watch AG reports on TV) equipment sales will fall.
Battle Of The Telecoms: AT&T And Verizon Vs. CenturyLink, Windstream And Frontier [View article]
I invested in telecom for years, but now I feel that the threat of low cost competition and gov meddling makes the likes of VZ, VOD and ATT too risky. The big co's are too greedy and rely on expensive plans to make profit. Recently ATT dropped "Straight Talk" owned by American Movil I think, sold in Walmart. It offered same unlimited data plan for 1/2 price and no contract.
I live in farm country (NE Ks.) I will give you two observations. 1. Ethanol is selling here for 10 cents a gal. higher than regular. That is exact opposite of the norm.
2. Local large land owners and local AG tv shows expect $3 corn this year. They have converted huge tracks of wooded areas and terraced and removed hill tops to accommodate more cropland.
Add these facts to the huge bubble in land prices ( in five yrs it has gone from $2500 to $14,000 per acre) Willie Nelson will be doing "Farm Aid" concerts soon.

I think a portion ( maybe the PC Client Group revenue of $8.0 billion, down 6.6 percent) of the poor performance of Intel is the poor reception of Win 8. I know I have put off buying a new PC because of it. I bought my wife a Win 8 notebook and found it very confusing. I think it will go the way of Win Millennium.
