  • Pullback Time? There's No Better Predictor than Credit Spreads [View article]
Total BS that unemployment will reach near 20% as long as govt. can keep printing money and keep financial system writing off bad assets over time rather than admitting bankruptcy today.

  • Atlas Pipeline Partners: A Painful Lesson in MLP Investing [View article]
One of the problems with MLP's has been hedge funds having to sell to meet redemptions or wanting to sell these as a result of lower commodity prices although many of the MLP's are pipeliners and commodity prices don't matter much.

  • Genco Shipping: A New Bubble in the Making? [View article]
Disagree with writer. Free cash flow and return on the investment in the ship assets is far more important than their disposal value. A shipper is a service company, not an asset company so level and price of services are what count.

  • ICICI Bank: Bellwether Emerging Market Short [View article]
What a surprise that this short would provide an innuendo filled view of how the bank was heading for the toilet because the middle class was somehow going to disappear. Reminds me of all the sleazeball journalists who planted the same kind of stories to help their buddies in the short world. Obviously the market disagrees as NBI continues to run upward.

  • The Real Reasons Fertilizer Stocks Are In the Dirt [View article]
Down slide almost totally a result of hedge fund unwinds and of course now the analysts jump in with downgrades--even though their targets remain 100-200% higher than current share prices!!!

  • Agrium's Not-So-Impressive 2Q Results [View article]
It appears that somehow 170% YOY growth is a negative! Also don't quite get how China not being able to produce enough potash domestically is a downer also. It does smell of the typical short seller media plant.

  • Terra Industries: Fertile Company in a Fertile Sector  [View article]
What a lot of people don't know, analysts included, is that TRA owns 75% of TNH and also is its general partner. As the general partner, TRA's management fees will be increasing drastically up to 50% of TNH's earnings after a fairly low threshhold is met. Nitrogen is not as hot a commodity as potash but still has exceptional prospects going forward. Increased demand plus the increased share of TNH earnings make this a home run.
