    I note the absence in your presentation of Dow Kokam, a joint venture between Dow Chemical and the Korean battery company, Kokam. An informative summary can be found at:

    It is a Korean company who are producing the battery for the GM Volt. Is it Kokam? If so, despite A123 being based upon an MIT developed technology, I'd be cautious at this stage.

    As one following my prior comments may recall, the EV verses Hybrid discussion must include another important aspect. If one gets rid of all gas consumption (I know a bit of a reach but stay with me), what happens to the gasoline produced in the oil refining process when one makes the highly needed other products (e.g. #2 fuel oil, jet fuel, asphalt, etc.).

    One barrel of oil in . . . so many liters of all the above products coming out. Again, ALL the above products including as much gasoline as all the others combined.

    This discussion needs a national energy policy first and foremost. Until then, its just noise.
