mike's current entrepreneurial focus comprises the innovative development of ETF quantitative hedging technology using classical Euler-Lagrange-Hamilton mechanical methods. long & short index ETFs are quantitatively paired to optimize delta neutral or high beta portfolio performance w/o trading options or shorting shares of ETFs. this is particularly beneficial to provide self-directed traders information to develop their own hedging algorithm in an online broker retirement account.

mike earned a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from georgia tech in 1986 with electives in several graduate math and physics courses. mike was a TA in the physics department and was inducted into the Pi Mu Epsilon math honor society. mike was granted two US patents for machine design (#'s 5142875, 5286652.) while working for H-P (nyse: HPQ) in R&D and manufacturing. in 1998, H-P spun-off the chemical analytical measurement group (where mike worked for 12 yrs) to be Agilent Technologies (nyse: A).

mike has been married 20 yrs to phyllis phyllips m.d., is an ordained baptist minister, is an avid student of christian theology, elementary particle physics, general relativity and cosmology. as a ministry, mike provides videography and DVD production services for his church. mike has 2 great teenage kids who play h.s. varsity & aau basketball and loves attending their events to watch them play.
