  • Jim Cramer's Mad Money - Cox Slow on the Uptick (11/21/08) [View article]
Patrick Byrne should be commended for the grief he endured due to naked short selling. It's amazing that he and Overstock survived. Investors are on the losing end and until the uptick rule is reinstated, we really don't stand a chance of success. I hope Barack Obama makes the replacement of Chris Cox one of his highest priorities.

  • Apple's $199 iPhone Is a Game-Changer [View article]
I certainly applaud your exuberant iPhone sales goal numbers. 25,000,000 iPhones sold this year would really be a game changer. Steve Jobs is a certified genius. Since I'm long AAPL, I guess I won't have to take the breathalyzer. History is about to be made.

  • Alesco Financial: Gem in the Garbage Pile [View article]
It's about time Alesco Financial got some respect. I've been accumulating shares since mid-2007 and it's my largest holding in the m-reit universe. I can't believe how the share price has declined. Great yield though! Thank you for your insightful analysis.

  • Berkshire Hathaway - The Anti-Volatility Fortress [View article]
Thank you for an excellent up-to-date Berkshire evaluation. Don't you just love Buffett's statement that he can't duplicate or even approach his past performance? I've been reading the Annual Report since I went long Berkshire Hathaway 12 years ago and he has reiterated similar statements every year, but the price of Berkshire has gone from $30,000 a share to $140,000 a share during that time. The price action of his stock speaks louder than his words.

  • OPEC Will Assure Oil Prices Stay in a Reasonable Range [View article]
I completely agree with your evaluation of Harvest Energy and have been acquiring it since late 2006 through late December 2007. After evaluating the decimation of the CanRoys after the 2006 Halloween Massacre, Harvest Energy was also my favorite to add to my long-term income portfolio. Owning the refinery will probably add volatility to the stock price, increasing its beta, but should prove lucrative overall. Thank you for your timely evaluation.

That's what Warren does. He's in the right place at the right time with deep pockets. Nobody does it better. Shareholders should rejoice.

  • Barron's Blunder: Berkshire Is Fairly Valued, With or Without Buffett [View article]
Finally, an analysis which fairly states Berkshire's worth. The Barron's article neglected to include the 2.5 billion dollars in look-through earnings as a factor in their evaluation. I'm also a holder of A and B shares, reluctantly received in the Flight Safety buy-out a decade ago. What a ride it has been since then! Cheers and long live Warren (the greatest investor of all time -without a doubt).

  • EMC Gets Two Upgrades; Acquires Online Backup Co. Mozy [View article]
Whoa! That's $600,000,000. What a difference! Still the bargain of the century, though.

  • EMC Gets Two Upgrades; Acquires Online Backup Co. Mozy [View article]
Finally, EMC is receiving the upgrades which are long overdue. The market has ignored the significant value that VMware brings to EMC. Acquiring VMware for about $600,000 a short time ago looks like the bargain of the century. The "ultimate" would be spinning it out to us shareholders once the transaction is deemed tax-free.

You're right Carl. The iPod touch is realistically destined to be a "must-have" item for Christmas. Here comes Santa Claus!

  • NovaStar's Death Spiral Financing Deal With Mass Mutual [View article]
Thanks bammer4. 100% RIGHT ON with your reply to Greenberg's obviously self-serving NFI article. Looks like it might be a last gasp attempt to sink NovaStar. Thanks again for getting the truth out there. I could not have said it better

  • David Neubert's Top Ten Holdings [View article]
The performance percentage evens out over time. During the last 10 years, my BRK.A and BRK.B shares have had the same percentage gain in price appreciation. Since one A share can always be exchanged for thirty B shares, that tends to reduce the arbitrage and price discrepancies.

  • Sterlite IPO Attractive In A Strong Zinc-Pricing Environment [View article]
Thank you for the comprehensive report on Sterlite Industries. I added it to my portfolio last week. I'm a patient investor and expect it to be a long term hold. I'll be watching for any info relating to their purchase of the 30% stake in the zinc operation.
