The 'Peak Oil' Myth: New Oil Is Plentiful

I'm somewhat surprised this level of trolling is permitted on seeking alpha. Jason if you had even bothered to do an introductory level reading on what "peak oil" means you would realize that the majority of your arguments are *in favor* of peak oil, not denying it. The fact that you lead off with the Carioca field is the quintessential "not getting it" example. Thats 30B barrels, not even a full years supply at current consumption rates, and its the largest find in decades. Its also deeper than any other field ever produced, the technology to do so doesn't even exist today. Roughly speaking it will take 15 or so years to bring online, and probably peak around 4 - 5mbpd another five years after that. So what that field really represents is a 5mbpd capacity in 2030. Explain to me how that refutes peak oil?
