Let the Peter Schiff Backlash Begin [View article]
Good article. No disrespect to Peter Schiff -- this market has fooled most investors -- but I'm also beginning to think he's a bit of a proverbial stopped clock. I'm also put off by his strident tone and incapacity for self-doubt. A lot of his commentary has a moralizing tone about it. I'd put Jim Rogers in the same category, also his advice was good to put you in the poorhouse in 2008 -- I did listen to him and bought a Taiwan ETF in March 2008; glad I took my loss early on that one! There's other famous bears that saw this whole mess coming but who have been much better at foreseeing the shorter-term rips and curls in the markets: Marc Faber, Gary Shilling, Nouriel Roubini, Albert Edwards, Enzio von Pfeil, and several others. In the end, I'm just looking to make money, not discuss economic morality.
