  • Farallon Capital's Q408: Betting on MasterCard [View article]
Nice to see another Hedgie remove it's position on Apple. If you notice, the removed positions of the funds, have now become a lot more stable, and many like Apple are on a steady rise, with individual investors back in control.

Here's a question: Should there be a law that prevents investors with a certain volume of shares, from putting or shorting their own stock? I mean, you know these funds, made money on the sale and then on the subsequent short caused by their volume sale... not that that's bad... it's just that they have such a huge influence in one fell swoop because of volume trading. Watching fund portfolios now has to be a major part of an investors decision & time... it would be nice if they could be automatically tracked, with some kind of software or service... and more then regular filings, that a certain volume of any stock would trigger a requirement for real-time viewing of the funds actions.

So much power in one place. I propose we start a fund "investment club". Individual investors can band together, and time a mass sale or mass purchase and benefit from the same market calls & puts, but caused by their OWN actions.... wouldn't that be trip! We could stay as individual investors, but pool mass resources like the big boys do!
