...oh, look!...seekingalpha is censoring yet again!...now several posts have disappeared...so much for seekingalpha respecting Constitutional rights...
...one can only hope the Lord will have mercy on the ignorant...do your homework, son...ilioperidone is just a variant of respiridone, otherwise known as risperdal...risperdal has been around like 15 years and is already marketed as a generic...Hoechst Marion dumped ilioperidone onto Titan Pharmaceutical 13 years ago...Titan sold international rights to Novartis in 1998 and Novartis didn't do anything with it...Titan messed with it for a while but apparently realized what a waste of effort it was and sold it to VNDA in 2002...ostensibly, VNDA's chairman had some of genotype test that would allow him to identify patients on whom ilioperidone MIGHT work better...at one point there were several lawsuits being bounced around about the drug but I don't know whatever happened to those...if you want to know VNDA's real potential ask your family MD...tasimelteon???...... more than a variant of the currently available rozarem...the funny thing is that rozerem has never been shown to be any more safe OR effective than just taking plain old melatonin!...so VNDA successfully develops yet another drug that no one needs -- whoopee!...VNDA is nothing more than a stupid Wall Street trick that was probably never meant to do more than enrich some venture capitalists and company management at the expense of naieve investors.
Kindle DX: Has Amazon Misread the Student Market? [View article]
...one of the dumber articles I've read...first and foremost, it ignores the PRACTICAL aspects of the device...a Kindle can hold bookshelves worth of books yet weighs only ounces...no more having to lug around five pound college texts...no more running back to the dorm because you forgot your copy of "Macbeth"...and you can also carry along reference texts as well as your pleasure reading...and risk of damage?...gosh, you haven't heard of insurance?...maitenance plans?...and a Kindle inside of a case is probably no more at risk than a laptop, netbook, or ipod...but that doesn't seem to stop people from lugging those from one end of the world to the other -- does it?...and what happens when you lose or damage a $125 textbook -- you eat it, that's what...and at the end of the semester you don't have to worry about getting ripped off by the campus bookstore offering you 10 cents on the dollar for your used text or about the text not being used the next year by the college...pull your head out of your butt and try to see past the dollar signs...
Kindle Digital Books Are Already Selling at 35% the Level of Print Books [View article]
...I looked at your books...perhaps the lack of Kindle sales is more a reflection of your audience than of Kindle...something to ponder.

How Unions Destroy Shareholder Wealth [View article]
...I agree with "red scorpion"...at this point, complaining about unions destroying shareholder wealth is, at best, superfluous...considering what Wall Street has done to destroy shareholder wealth over the past year, the effects of unions hardly bear consideration.
Will Kindle Success Come at Amazon's Expense? [View article]
...I agree with your last line wholeheartedly...what I wish the media and Amazon would discuss more are the "green" qualities of Kindle...I can only imagine how many acres of trees will be spared, how much less of pollution paper and ink manufacturers will spew into our rivers and atmosphere, how many fewer gallons of fuel will be needed to deliver hard copy books, and how much less packaging garbage there will be to dispose of...I hope someone eventually will do a study and come up with the numbers...I think everyone will be amazed.
Speculating on the Emergence of an iConsole [View article]
...another game console?...you're joking, right?...Nintendo is already sweating Wii's loss of luster...and as I recall Sony doesn't make much off of PSP...and Microsoft's profit margin I don't know...but still, why on earth would Apple want to throw down against Sony and Microsoft?...I don't see the reward as comensurate with the risk...use the 29 billion either to buy back stock or invest in some area not dominated by 800 pound gorillas.
...and I included this little quote from the second article:
"Patent trolls often file infringement claims after deals are announced in the hopes that a "contingent liability clause" might result in an immediate payoff (lest the deal be stalled). The AOL-Tacoda deal does not have a "hidden contingent liability" clause that could cause it to be put on hold until Modavox can be persuaded to go away. It is still on track to close soon. The patent in this case concerns some personalization technologies that were relevant in the late 90s (when the patent was filed). Some not-disinterested parties who have examined the patent regard it as one of those ridiculous patents that never should have been issued and will eventually be declared invalid. AOL has been very aggressive about defending IP lawsuits in the past. Defendants in patent-troll cases have many options, including searching for "RocketDocket" districts in which to file counter-legislation asking that patents be declared invalid. The goal here is to force the troll to put its money where its mouth is in terms of ongoing legal fees--and, better yet, to possibly expunge the patent before the original infringement suit even gets to court."
...now what exactly did "seekingalpha" see that merited censorship?...
12 Reasons Why Amazon Should Buy Twitter [View article]
...."Introducing Twitter Payments: Amazon has been struggling to gain traction with its payments platform." ???...what am I missing?...I have an Amazon ID and simply click "buy" and the thing is automatically paid for and shipped...how would "Twitter" facilitate that?...and why would I want to link my Twitter account to Amazon?...for a $5 coupon?...so they could send me ads ad libitum?...don't think so...I really don't see any benefit from tying the the companies together.
..."The writer is an independent economist..."....do you really need to read any further than that to assess the merit of his opinion?...straight to the circular file.
The Big Kindle: Closing In on the Details [View article]
...gag!!!...always the price issue is mentioned WITHOUT mentioning that Kindle books cost about HALF the price of hard copies!...read 20-30 books and you've saved the cost of the device!
...Roubini's an economist whose entire knowledge base is derived from textbooks and "case studies"...the fact that the guy is a professor is testimony to his skills as an ACADEMICIAN as well as to his skill at predicting the future of the economy and the stock market...right now, he is having the proverbial "15 minutes of fame" and don't expect him to give it up easily.
