    What "intent" implies is some kind of model of a universe of knowledge. This first level of this universe is a (primitive) model of "reality. The second level is a linguistic one based on the first level. There must be a meta-model of all languages, a sort of "super deep structure" model of the translation of reality to its linguistic representation. Only from there can we hope to extract intent. Do these technologies have that? I double it, for if they did, they would have a universal translationg machine, and we would have herad about it.
    It is great, however, that companies are moving in that direction, apparently.
