Add Japan to you list. I think they would go crazy for an iWatch. Coincidently, Apple is rumored to be on the verge of a major deal with the main Japanese cell phone provider who is drastically cutting back on Android orders.

Who is to say Apple wont come out with different versions of the watch? Apple was supposedly having discussions of some sort with Ferrari. Why not Cartier? Omega?

I just don't get Google glass. $1,500 versus $2-$300 for the iWatch? No contest. And could you imagine being at a party talking to someone wearing the glasses? Man! Nothing says a-hole better than an LA media executive, or WS broker wearing a $1,500 fashion accessory.

  • Disney Showcases Apple's iWatch Potential [View article]
Both the iPhone and iPad were called fads and destined to fail.

Good comments. But just as the young crowd would love this, why not an older crowd that uses the device as a health monitoring and alert system? We know iPads are becoming standard use in hospitals and in doctors offices. Body temperature can now be measured by lightly touching the skin surface on the forehead. Why not heart rate, and many other relevant body conditions?

One additional point -- Did any one hear this story reported by Melissa Lee on CNBC? What are the odds Cramer will bring it up? In fact what Cramer did say about the iwatch e other day was (paraphrasing). "The iwatch. Yeah, as in I watch Apple stock go down every day." That 's not market manipulation, right?

  • Google Is Bargain Priced [View article]
This article seems more about Apple than Google, which is no surprise. Channon makes an excellent point regarding the concentration of Google's revenues in advertising which I believe is a huge Achilles heel that many analysts choose to ignore. Apple, Netflix and Amazon are positioning themselves to take on the existing cable content distribution model. They will offer content on demand through Internet distribution platforms that will devastate Google's current ad model. Why? Because advertisers want highly efficient media targeting. Self selecting customers for Apple,Amazon, Netflix, TV are the next new market. Just look at how the younger generation watches content and you 'll get it. Google a bargain? Maybe if you a trader. Not if you're going long.

  • More on Apple: Berenberg's Adnaan Ahmad has downgraded shares to Sell from Buy, while also cutting his rating on Samsung (SSNLF.PK). With smartphone growth now fueled by emerging markets, "Apple and Samsung margins are peaking and growth is going to be driven by the margin-dilutive mid-to-low-end segment," he argues. Also, Citi has cut its PT to $480, citing weaker iPhone 5 and regular iPad demand. Citi, which cut Apple to Neutral in December, now expects March and June quarter iPhone sales of 34M and 25M, below a consensus of 37M and 32M. AAPL -0.2%[View news story]

  • Foxconn has begun production of an iPhone 5S (AAPL) that looks much like the iPhone 5, claims Japanese blog MacOtakara, which has a mixed track record (I, II) with iScoops. MacOtakara also reports NTT DoCoMo (DCM) has slashed Android phone orders for the fall, which is fueling speculation an iPhone deal is on the way. Jefferies' Peter Misek argued last month preparation for March iPhone 5S production could be responsible for new iPhone order cuts. Possible/likely suppliers: CRUS, OVTI, SWKS, TQNT, AVGO, QCOM, BRCM, NTE, MFLX, LPL. (yesterday[View news story]
Wrong. They fixed maps and it is a better product than Google. The bigger story here is the impact on Android. Follow this up with a lower cost phone and a China deal and the money is going to swing back to Apple.

  • Apple: Already (Essentially) A Private Company [View article]
Very well done author. I have believed for a long time that we have been witnessing a major game of "who will blink first" between Apple, the media, hedge funds and analysts. The market makers have basically said we will punish you until you kiss our rings and give us our increased dividend. Analysts and media have been frustrated by Apple's arrogance and indifference to them. As a result, mis-information, false facts, negative headlines, an endless stream of doomsday articles etc., etc. I can't say for sure, but today somebody blinked. And it wasn't Apple.

  • Apple: Zero Growth ... Really? [View article]
For what its worth, Doug Kass (notorious Apple bear), just said on CNBC "he blew it" on Apple. What's next, cats and dogs living together?

No bleeding going on today, dude. Should we assume you are a Google investor? Your time is coming. Fat Banker is absolutely correct in his analysis. This time last year Apple was well over $500, with NO dividend, far less cash in its horde, no product refresh and had not introduced the iphone 5 or mini. Today it's more profitable, in better shape and with far more cash than a year ago with a stock price almost $100 lower than this time last year. And you have the temerity to state that there is no manipulation going on?

Mr Sanity receives special secret coded messages from Steve Jobs about what is going on inside Apple. Let's face it -- Sanity provides a certain amount of irrational entertainment value that is hard to find anywhere else in the media. Not counting Melissa Lee and Cramer's daughter, of course.

  • A Chinese government white paper has said China is "too dependent on Android," and accused Google (GOOG) of discriminating against some Chinese OS developers by delaying code sharing, as well as trying to limit their ability to do business. While the paper made no recommendations, analysts see it as an indication that China could be set to impose regulations on Android. [View news story]
If you substituted Apple for Google in the headline, Apple stock would go down 10 points. Google goes up. FUS.
