  • Plug-In Natural Gas Hybrid Vehicles: A Game Changer [View article]
Fitz, The problem our energy discourse is having on the national level is that it is not articulated correctly. We might better start the discussion with our inability to balance our operating cash flow with the world and that the problem is getting worse since1991. Then this problem should be related to job loss. The reasons for this problem are driven primarily by three factors: importation of oil, our inability to sell our high priced domestic goods abroad and our massive trade imbalance with China. Jump starting alternate energy production, use of natural gas and electric mass transportation will go along way toward righting the job, creation problem, would help drive the countr'y's operating cash flow toward positive terratory, create products we can export for a long time and oh by the way reduce green house gases. If the emphasis was put on the right sylLABLE MAYBE BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT would get it and we could make some real progress. This along with equalizing the corporate tax rate is what I believe should be the heart of the investment plan we are contemplating.

Fitz, Hope you revisit your last article for my last comment. I would like your view. I'd settle for the conversion of all gov.[fed, state and local] or their replacement in two years. I have ridden in municple buses powered by natural gas here and abroad in high traffic situations and don't know what the safety concerns are. I even think school buses should be powered this way and that instead of spending 50 to 100b on buildings, we might allocate a slug of money on this area.
