it looks to me like the best buy would be to buy XM instead of Siri if the price holds or goes down a bit on both ....with the 4.6 exchange , XM looks damn good under 8 .....better than Siri at 1.85 .....of course merger approval needed to reap rewards .......hmmmmmm maybe that is why XM jumped .....I have a feeling someone has some inside info as usual on wall street .....the big boys always seem to beat us to the punch ever so slightly before any news hits the wires ....weird how that works

Jun 27 03:35 PMI'm here with my popcorn...this is great entertainment reading all the crackpots that come out and post to the SIRI threads. I have a small speculative play in SIRI. If I lose it fine I really don't care. If I get a 2 or 3 bagger, that'd be fine too. I love losingshirttosatellite... LOL!!! ......................... Maybe if you had a stake in this , you would be with the rest of us "crackpots" ....so enjoy your popcorn , and try not to choke on it like I am choking on siri right now !!!!!!! And if you have no concern for this topic , then GTFOH ........because this is "sirius" shit to me , and to a few other people I am sure

( Vicar of Value's post 6-27 ..11:37 AM ) "As greedy individual investors, you all simply gravitated to confirming evidence (others in prominent positions parroting what you already believed or wanted to hear, namely Messrs Cramer and Savery) while openly berating the voice of dissent (yours truly). Now that you have all lost considerable sums of money, do not point the finger entirely at your self-appointed "experts" in satellite radio. You bear responsiblity for your own losses by investing carelessly, and treating the process as a game rather than the serious discipline that it is."

OK , first of all , no one has lost any money until they SELL .....and secondly , the stock market sure as hell is a "GAME" ....It is nothing more than a manipulating pyramid scheme , and many aspects have nothing to do with rhyme or reason , simply get in and out before everyone else does ....and the analysts are nothing more than price manipulators for the most part ....that's why there is so much volatility ....you think a company's balance sheet fluctuates as much as their stock price ???? Sure , there is SOME analytical data that is important , but for the most part , Wall Street is loaded with insiders that play a very tough ponzi game with the rest of us .....good news on tuesday , bad news on wednesday !!!!!! it's a load of BS

  • Solution to the Global Petroleum Crisis [View article]
In a way high prices can be considered somewhat of a "blessing" , because people are too selfish to voluntarily conserve energy unless it hits our pocketbooks ( I am including myself here ) ....BUT , there is a point at which a threshold is reached , and high energy prices cease to be beneficial , and end up collapsing our economy .....5 bucks a gallon and we are in deep crap .....very deep crap .....depression deep crap .....4 bucks a gallon is killing me right now , and 5 ??????? NOT GOOD .......Things will seriously begin to crash at 5 bucks ......starting with bankruptcies and store closings ....people will simply have no spare change to spend on much else besides food and energy ....BUT the upside is that all you soccer moms driving a frickin' hummer might sell that pile of crap and get something a little less thirsty ....it erks me to see some yuppie driving a damn hummer ....and alone in the vehicle at that !!!!!! Ya think you're in the army or somethin' ????????? 6 miles to the gallon ?????? good grief ....do you have any idea how serious this damn energy situation is ??????? We live in a different world now , and selfish extravagance is not a status symbol anymore ....it is a BS ego trip that is fine and dandy in a world with 4 billion people , but with 6.5 billion and rising ?????? You ain't seen nothin' yet .....watch what happens when the population hits 10 billion , and China and India start guzzling energy like we do ....total disaster , and it WILL come ....mark my words .......all the alternative energy solutions in the world will do nothing when the population/consumption increases and absorbs any gains made .......zip , nada

  • Sirius/XM: Non-Commercial Programming - A Matter of National Security  [View article]
I have emailed Siri in the past and suggested they offer the government a few stations for propoganda or a military channel ....I figured the government would love that , and approve the merger quickly .......guess I was wrong , or maybe Siri didn't take my suggestion .......but to me , that would have been a good idea ...offer the guv a few channels for propoganda/patriotism .....then again , maybe they did , under the guise of "emergency broadcasting channels " ....but it didn't seem to help the merger go through any quicker ........Damn FCC

I also watched that cramer video , and he might be a crook ( I have not listened to cramer much ) , but i did find it interesting ( and scary ) that he seemed to imply an FCC / Clearchannel plot to take over XM/Siri ......interesting because I have felt like maybe the FCC is not going to just greenlight the merger after taking all that Clearchannel bribe money .......THAT would be unethical

ok , thursday 6-26-08 , 6:40 pm EDT ......( it is midnight when I saw this on the business wire ) XM has been loaned another 100 million dollars by UBS AG ( whoever that is ) .......so I wonder ???? would anyone loan 100 million dollars to a company that is going to die ??????????? Is this a reason to think that maybe someone out there thinks XM is worth a 100 million dollar gamble ?????? I would really like to hear some thoughts on this soon , because I am half tempted to buy some siri in the morning at 1.85 or better ......I just now saw this brief article when I clicked the siri news 10 minutes ago ......what's the implications ????? seems to be a reason for optimism to me .......I can't think of anyone extending 100 million dollars to a soon to be defunct company

  • Where’s the Bottom for Satellite Radio Stocks? [View article]
killerkaul , and a few others , thanks for shedding a little optimism on satrad .....I have been sweating bullets for years now , as I am sure all of you have , and it sucks ....I am definately glad to see it hold up after todays 360 point decline ....maybe that's a good omen ....and , then again at 1.86 a share , is there even such a thing as a good omen ???? ......I have both siri and xm , heavy on siri .....half my life savings heavy !!!!! So this buck fifty business is bumming me out big time .....BUT , no worries as long as the merger flies , and NO BANKRUPTCY ENRON CRAP !!!!!! I am half tempted to grab a few buck eighty five shares just to lessen the average down ( I am at 5 and 6 bucks on siri ) .....I am sort of curious as to what would happen if siri exchanged 3 shares for 1 xm , instead of 4.6 at the merge ???? I know it would be a hit on xm investors in the short term ( I have xm so I would get hit too ) BUT , ultimately with less shares , less dilution , and maybe siri would jump a bit right off the bat !!!!!! Maybe a 3 for 1 is better than a 4.6 for 1 , in the grand scheme of things ......and I can definately see now what "FCC" stands for , and it ain't Federal Communications Commission ....it's Fat Cat Crooks For Clear Channel Frickin' Crap Cowards ......well that would be FCCFCCFCC , but it fits well ......

  • Solution to the Global Petroleum Crisis [View article]
while it is true the speculation has an affect on the price of petroleum , it is not the major cause of commodities rising ....simply put , there are too many people on this planet scrambling for too few resources ....THAT is the elephant in the room , and it is NOT going away ....the solution to all of our problems is , " all of the above " ......there is no single solution , we must apply ALL solutions ....alternative energies , drill more wells , try to conserve energy when we can , drive more fuel efficient vehicles , reign in oil speculations , our government needs to be fiscally responsible and stop blowing billions of dollars on pork crap non-sense like going to mars for a bag of rocks and a few desert landscape photos ....AND , numero uno , every person on this planet needs to understand it is time to slow down having babies .....I do NOT want draconian measures implemented , but I would like someone to start discussing the issue of overpopulation , and inform the people of the world to wear a frickin' rubber now and then ......if you think things are bad now , just wait until the population hits 10 billion !!!!!! You ain't seen nothin' yet ........and there is NOT an infinite supply of oil ....THAT is the crux of the matter , plain and simple .......

sirius fan and 1638 , I know I was bringing up an old topic ...I just joined here , and I am sure all of you have already discussed everything I said in my post ......sorry to re-hash an old topic .....and I do plan to hold as long as I can ....the only thing now is to hope for a merger , and siri becoming profitable in the future ......unfortunately , I also think terrestrial radio companies will dog sirius with future lawsuits ( they'll think of something ) ....well it's going to be a struggle ..I just hope it's a struggle on the way up , and this company begins to turn a profit soon ......the ONLY thing that definately worries me is a bankruptcy

giving howard stern 500 million was stupid ...the merger should have been approved at least 6 months ago ....and now here's a scary thought ....suppose after the merger sirius will be of course heavily in debt .....what if some small start up competitor comes on the scene that is not burdened with all that debt .....let's say clear channel moves into sat radio ??????? bummer to say the least .....I'm heavy on sirius at 5 bucks , and it has been a very long troubling few years waiting on this stock to move up ....only to see it go further down than i could possibly have imagined .....the DOJ and FCC have committed criminal procrastination in order to pad the coffers with terrestial bucks ......the merger is in no way even close to a bad thing for consumers ....if sat radio is not a good deal , all you have to do is cancel your subscription !!!!!!! what in the heck is so dangerous about that !!!! the merger is a no-brainer , and should have been approved a year ago ....the last thing this country needs is another failed business .....sidenote to the FCC - " It's a frickin' radio !!!!! NOT a loaf of bread !!!!! "
