  • Western Asset Mortgage: Yeah I'm Dumbfounded Here [View article]
I have used same with AGNC held off & on for almost 5 yrs bought 2000 shares w/esop money sold on highs bought on lows didn't always hit lows & highs. I now have 4834 shares for my original investment. Sure you can do well from holding but you can do better setting a price to sell it at as most of these stocks have some wide ranges I have retired a year early on 63% more than I was making working. I started out by reading Fredrick Arnolds Articles on these high dividend stocks & yes I am now collecting free $$$

Chris these high dividend stocks are not buy & hold if they miss by even a little the analysts will beat the price down. Bought in may sold last week +4.10 share with dividends now I will wait for the price to come down & buy it back There is some reason the analysts don't like these stocks that pay high dividends ??? Look at the charts for AGNC NTI LINE I have made a lot of $ from them but you can't buy & hold

great article I had a 401k with one of the major players for almost 20 yrs over
$ 73,000 in fees & they lost money some yrs. There are a lot of companies out there that charge 0 fees for IRA accounts you manage with the same stocks
The question is do you want to keep your money or give it to someone else

  • Update: American Capital Agency Moves Towards Monthly Dividends [View article]
it's actually .8165 % reinvested it give more shares sooner = more dividends Dividends on shares of stocks you paid for with dividends is almost like free money Maybe talk to your local Banker he can explain compound interest better than I can. I have held AGNC for about 5 yrs
started out with 2300 shares from an ESOP pay off. I now have 4473 shares with the same dollar i started with. Reinvested the dividends &sold at highs , bought back at lows & I didn't always hit the exact lows & highs
lost 4 dividends along the way. Mopays are good in another way you can sell at a high miss a dividend ,& buy on the low only lose 1/12 of the yearly dividend

  • Update: American Capital Agency Moves Towards Monthly Dividends [View article]
Great article I will miss selling on the highs & buying back on the dips after the ex dates but dividends reinvested on a Mopay will yield almost 1% more because it compounds faster. Good thing for long term investors

great article Fredrick I have done well by following your work. One thing to point out these stocks are not buy & hold . If you buy any of these stocks set a price where you will sell it ,trailing stops work real good & with mopays you can get out & get back in without losing a whole quarter of dividends this has worked exceptionly well with PSEC & LINE with the ambulance chasers & the analyst's beating it up as they did one question there are a lot of canadien stocks that are MoPays that are there but never included LQSIF & SGLRF come to mind but i'm sure there are more

there are a bunch of mopays out there great supplement to SS. Suggest you read SA articles by Fredrik Arnold "Mopay dogs" as he calls them With dividends & SS I retired early on 62% more than I was making working by following his ideas. Just remember there doesn't seem to be any of these stocks that are buy & hold. I have bought & sold LINE 4 times in the last 2 yrs. Sell on the highs buy on the lows dividends + profit on sells= +68%

    to Bogus
I too have done so well with my IRA on mostly mopays. I have read Fredrick's articles for about 4 yrs & now have 3 accounts for relatives
Use trailing stops it will save you a lot of work I was able to retire early with a 50% pay raise from dividends by following Fredrick's ideas. These stocks are not buy & hold
