Scott Cherf is a former Technical Leader at cisco Systems where he pioneered the measurement and estimation IOS software reliability in 1996. In 1999 he was invited to present this work at the IEEE's 10th annual International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering. He served as Technical Editor and Contributing Author to the book "High Availability Network Fundamentals" in 2001. Scott holds two US patents in the area of high availability computer system design. Prior to joining cisco in 1993 Scott worked for 12 years as an engineer for Tandem Computers where he participated in the design and implementation of the first commercial fault tolerant operating system. Scott has authored several internationally published papers on software metrics and has served as Technical Editor for IEEE Computer magazine. He lives with his wife and two children in the town of Jackson Wyoming where he serves as the CEO of Ambient Light Productions, LLC.
Scott holds a NASAR SARTECH II rating and is a board certified Wilderness First Responder. He's an active member of K9 Search and Rescue teams in California and Wyoming.
