S&P 500 Breaks Another Resistance Level [View article]
I completely agree 'Speeddaimon'. A 'Fasle Break-out' of the Price Line is very common only to see it retrace back below resistance and make its way South! I am no expert either but I believe 3 consecutive days with increasing volume which is pivotal provides more supportive evidence of a 'Breakout.'
Banks: Can They Rally for More Than a Week [View article]
Has anyone looked into the cummulative Preferred Shares of the financials? The Current Yield on them are extremely attractive even after the rally we have seen over the last few days.
Since they are cummulaive they are obliged to pay at the later date if the interest stops being paid out. I guess what it becomes is a bet on the Bank itself to see if they can survice. Once the economy restores itself to a more stable and recovery mode these these cumulative Preferreds should rally.
Water ETFs Managing to Tread Above Market [View article]
Hi Murray. I really found your reseach very insightul for investing in the 'Water Space.' Please let me know why the row totals of the different ETF's you have listed do not all add up to 100%? Do these ETF's take short positions in the subsectors you have identified?
History does not repeat..it rhymes! There could be a breakout below $20 even though it may be unlikely as markets can remain irrational longer than investors can remain solvent. I would keep a very close eye on this stock though to get a very good entry point and then pretty much forget about it.
Investing in Water - It's Not Just for Drinking [View article]
The 'Water' value chain is highly fragmented from Pipe manufacturers, Filteration experts, Valve and Metering companies, Utilities, Turnkey operators, Chemicals and Infrastructure and Distribution.
I have spent a lot of time understanding the players but if one needs quick access to the 'Water Space' my suggestion is to look at ETF's such as PHO, PIO and CGW.
It is also very important to get the 'Sub Sector' right when investing in water so subscibe to a newsletter like 'WIN' to keep updated on trends in the industry and where they are flowing (No Pun Intended)
Ten Stocks For the Global Economic Expansion [View article]
Hi Faisal. I know you cover 'Water Stocks'. Could you please tell me what caused the huge sell-off in Veolia (VE) in the last few days and do you see this now as a buying opportunity and why?
Hi Faisal. I have been studying the water industry for a little while now. I recently also attended Aquatech in Amsterdam in September. My question to you in that from the companies that make up PHO, what % are actually involved directly in water? You will find the percentage very small. Please let me have your comments on khaleel@anwar.ca
