Political Party Power and Its Affect on U.S. Market Return [View article]
Although you have a lot of factual material you are putting a lot of assumptions on top to twist factual data. Yes, the transition period could be credited to the outgoing party for both positive and negative, however you could also infer that optimism of the incoming party altered the economy's outlook just as much. I applaud your efforts on the topic as this is always one of the largest drivers of who people vote into office. I wouldn't use incoming or outgoing parties as a means for investing with expectation of return but rather use this data in relation to the candidates up for election and balance it against their platforms. It's sad that so many people at the water cooler speak about "oh what a great speech" "That speech is why I'm voting for so and so"...look at that idiot in CA that's governor, these individuals are reading a script written by someone else in an effort to sway your opinion (I believe that's called propaganda). The better the acting job, the more votes they get...again, look at the idiot in CA. Just how many people have bought that bridge for sale in NY??? Use fact when making a decision, not emotion.
