  • Enbridge has figured out an easier way to ship crude to the U.S. [View news story]
No problem...just quit using gasoline. A tax on gasoilne of $ 10/gal should be about right.

  • Why Valero Is The Refiner Of The Future [View article]
I must be missing something. Valero does involve itself in producing Ethanol from corn. It's blended into gasoline under a complex government program that involves various subsidies. Valero announced a large project for it's Norco Refinery (the 7/11/2013 announcement cited in your article) to make Methanol from Natural Gas - but no progress since then. The Chinese do use methanol in fuels and have recently announced two multi billion dollar projects in LA & Texas to make methanol from Natural Gas. They plan to ship the methanol to China.

  • Congressional Office: More Oversight Of Fracking Needed [View article]
Hydraulic Fracturing has done a HUGE service to this nation. Where would we be today without it? Regulations to protect water are important, but excessive regulation just adds cost. Would you be surprised if some OPEC countries support more regulations in the US. Do people in New York and California really want a moratorium on Fracking?

  • Short Cheniere Energy After This Meteoric 3000% 4-Year Run [View article]
The author didn't get into the question of the Federal Government's control of new projects. Memo to Gov - set the rules & get out of the way. Cheniere will be in the Catbird's seat if no more export facilities are allowed.

  • The U.S. Should Build East Coast LNG Capacity [View article]
Just look at all of the expensive new vessels that have been built to handle LNG shipments. Few have been sighted in US waters. If our government delays (in "approvals" for new export terminals) persist, that won't change much. What will change is that foreign governments will do their own shale work.
Memo to US govt: Set the rules & get out of the way.
In the meantime, overseas companies (like Yuhuang Chemical) will be building facilities here to use our low-cost natural gas. For a list of these new projects, go to http://bit.ly/1bxjyVp

  • Report: An Enbridge Line 5 spill could cause Great Lakes catastrophe [View news story]
Shut down the pipeline & replace it by rail transport. Or, better still, don't replace it. Lets all start walking, or lets all use bicycles. Isn't that what everyone in California does?

  • Fracking Bans Spread Even As Science Reduces Perceived Dangers [View article]
I have an idea ! Lets get the OPEC nations members together and start a fund that supports bogus movies about the evils of hydraulic fracturing. They don't need to spend money in CA or NY. The people in those two states all ride bicycles to work...They don't use gasoline.

  • An In-Depth Look At Sempra's Newly Approved LNG Export Facility [View article]
The US is now the World's largest producer of Natural Gas (very little thanks to the current occupants of the White House). The world has a fleet of 357 special ships built to handle LNG cargo's. Guess how many of these ships have visited the US to pick up cargos for export? Our government is holding up approval of these terminals. For details go to http://bit.ly/1bxjyVp

  • Natural Gas Transportation: What's Taking The U.S. So Long? [View article]
Fitzsimmons hits a home run again. What this article really brings out is the lack of education among the public on Energy Matters. Also the desire of our own government to control everything. Memo to Govt: Set the rules & get out of the way. Let the market decide. You are not that smart (don't feel bad - nobody is)

  • Possible Fracking-Earthquake Link Could Challenge Oil And Gas Industry [View article]
I'm not a geologist, but believe that earthquakes are nature's way of relieving stress. Fracking might hasten this process. If you lived in California, would you prefer a dozen small quakes (rattling dishes), or another "big one" that brings down buildings? We need the new Oil & Gas to put the zip back in our economy - and improve the environment until alternative sources of energy are economic. Just look at all of the new petrochemical plants now on the horizon. http://bit.ly/1bxjyVp
