Earnings Quality: Why It's So Important Now and Which Stocks Are Suspect [View article]
this is an interesting analysis but doesn't this apply to product companies more than service companies? Nasdaq isn't shipping anything to anyone or stuffing shelves they perhaps just are a bit more generous with payment terms and hence the accruals but their customer leverage is so high (delisting for unpaid bills) that they can afford to be a bit more relaxed on terms......just my thoughts......
I think your list is a noble try but is missing the point. computers are just phase I of the connected world.....cell phone, tvs, cars, electricity meters, and others are the next phase. Bill G. was the symbol of his era. To think that the next leader is going to come from a second act around software and web services is naive. heck for all any of us know the next leader for the technology generation will probably be pushing clean tech...where is shai agassi (project better place) or elon musk (space X, tesla).
The next wave of technology will be so much greater but definitely not the same. Bill Gates took a generation to develop. I would think it would have been challenging to have called him the next one back in the early 80's.
