  • Tesla: The Final Warning Before Earnings  [View article]
    Agree, crazy over-valuation here. But I wouldn't short it, and I wouldn't buy puts (in fact I would sell puts). Why? Because there are a lot of shorts already, and this thing is primed for a short covering explosion higher, likely on the basis of announcements from the CEO (not in terms of current earnings, but in terms of partnerships with other big players, GOOG for example).

    Consider this. With so many shorts already, the downside is limited, because those shorts will cover into any move down, which will tend to provide a cushion. However, if the news is positive, those same shorts will simply provide fuel for an explosion higher. Almost 75% of these highly anticipated earnings events end up with the stock exploding higher. So the odds are against the shorts here, and the downside is limited in any case because shorts need to cover at some point.

    The deck is stacked against shorts here, regardless of the fact this stock is ludicrously over valued.

    This will change. Negative will reach 45% before long as the market continues to sell off, which it will do if the yen continues to strengthen, and the charts say this is pre-ordained.

    The beginning of the end to the scam of private insurance companies creaming 15% from Americans for doing virtually nothing. Never seen such a bunch of worthless 'business' parasites, they provide zero added value. The sooner they die, the better.

  • Loonie's decline "remarkable opportunity"  [View news story]
    Exports of manufacturing goods requires strong demand, something that's been missing in economies around the world. Weighing against the loonie is the large nat gas surplus in the US - Canada used to be an exporter of gas, but not anymore. Ditto for crude, the US has markedly increased production thanks to the Bakken field. I expect a 0.85 loonie before the year is out, won't look good for the current govt going into an election year.

    Just another Wild Ass Guess.

    The gods did not reveal from the beginning
    All things to us; but in the course of time
    Through seeking, men find that which is the better.
    But as for certain truth, no man has known it,
    Nor will he know it; neither of the gods,
    Nor yet of all the things of which I speak.
    And even if by chance he were to utter
    The final truth, he would himself not know it;
    For all is but a woven web of guesses. (Wild Ass Guesses)

  • Jeremy Siegel: Correct About 2013, Sees Dow At 18,000 In 2014  [View article]
    Siegel will be partially right every year the market goes up, and dead wrong every year the market goes down. He has zero predictive power. Might as well pick a number between 1 and 100, if it's 65 and lower the market will go up, otherwise the market will go down by this random predictive model.
