Energy Storage Opportunities vs. Irrational Expectations [view article]
Americans won't buy turbo diesels.....they associate them with dirty, noisy cars from the late 70s/early 80s. That is why Ford won't produce their turbo deisel engines in Mexico....not enough demand....Ford has a small turbo diesel that should sell like gangbusters overseas but it won't see the U.S. anytime soon.....over 60 mph...closer to 80 Sep 15 04:22 PMEnergy Storage Opportunities vs. Irrational Expectations [view article]
"U.S. battery industry is building new manufacturing plants to meet current demand"So what are your thoughts on A123? Won't their IPO essentially create disparate valuations amongst battery companies and potentially INCREASE the valuation of the above companies?
I think they all float upwards with that IPO and then, over time, you'll figure out who the winners/losers truly are.
CBAK vs. ABAT. One losses $$$ and one generates profits. In the end I like companies that generate cash flow from operations and profits.
I understand the LI-ION concern re: power/weight but I think these stocks have some legs still left in them!

Foreclosures Actually Dropped (If You Don't Count Five States) [view article]
A few thoughts:1) FL, CA, AZ and NV had values outstrip incomes. They had the most room to go down due to affordability of existing population.
2) The above 4 states had a HEAVY chunk of investment $$$ chasing properties. That artificially drove up demand and everyone who wanted to be in a house went into a house during that time frame. Now we are having supply/demand equalize and it is painful....
3) The above 5 states represent a BIG chunk of total originations due to population. CA and FL are probably 15%-20% of total originations alone. Then, factor in higher property values in those states and you get a disproportionate potential exposure to bank BALANCE sheets, which is what this is really all about....Are firms properly capitalized and financially viable? Some clearly aren't.....WAMU is going to get killed as values continue to erode in CA (my 2 cents) Sep 12 05:53 PM
Investing in miRNA: Beware the Hype, Follow the Money [view article]
What about MRNA? Aren't there other RNA type of companies out there? Wasn't there some company founded by Nobel Laureates who really found this stuff? Could be one of the above mentioned...New as all heck to Biotech but I've been told that RNA is the next 5-10 year play in Biotech. Smart folks I know say this is the investment theme and to find the winners now....I am a tech guy myself. ABAT has made and will continue to make me some nice returns this year. In there BIG at an avg. cost of $4.50. ROSG is about the size company I like to find...... Jun 29 09:16 PM
