BlackBerry: How Can Returns Possibly Exceed Sales [View article]
Excellen article. I wish articles like yours were the only ones published. All the false information article about BBRY are spreading again. The shorts are desperate.
@cereal: That link is to an old article that is not valid any more. That was before the update. Now the battery life is comparable or better than most other phones. Keep up with current events.
It's Time To Believe In RIM And The BlackBerry Again [View article]
I agree LoganSix. Smooth sailing for us as well. A friend works in another company supporting both PC and Macs. He says the PC support is simple compared to the nightmare go goes through to support the Macs. Not worth every having Macs in your company, unless they are standalone. As soon as you integrate them, the nightmare begins.
Sterne Agee's Shaw Wu breaks down the value of Research In Motion's (RIMM +3.3%) various pieces, and sees “intrinsic value" in RIM but isn't sure "if a price of over $7B makes sense.” He sees a valuation range of $5B-$7B, for a stock price of $9.50-$13.50; current market cap is ~$6.6B. RIM’s patents might not be all that valuable, Wu contends. [View news story]
You got that right! No-one listens to this Wu guy anyone. He is wrong 99% of the time.

@Ronin. We will see. As for the labour issue, it is well documented, and Cook just made a trip to China to address the issue. Of all the companies having this problem, Apple is by far the worst offender.

Metrics only tell part of the story. There is more competition, iOS is unsecure, old, and inflexible, Apple is losing lawsuits and still have slave labor issues in China. Android is outselling Apple and the gap is growing. The stock will tumble to the mid $400's imo.
Why Apple May Miss Upcoming Earning Estimates [View article]
Yes, please do. Do they like them? I've had a few friends "change" to the iPhone, and the majority of them upgraded to an Android phone within 4 months after. They did not like the iPhone at all. The voice calling was poor, reception was poor, and they didn't like the UI. I let them play with my Atrix, and they liked it a lot more. So they tossed the iPhone and bought Android phones. I'm finding this to be a common occurrence. Once you go Android, you rarely go anything else. But the same is not true these days for the iPhone (maybe it used to be, but now that there are better choices, it's not any more).
The fact that the Android emulator is embedded in the QNX OS that is secure makes all the different. The Android architecture is clearly the preferred architecture between iOS and Android. That much is clear due to Android outselling iOS in a big way. iOS is fading away, as it is an outdated OS. Apple's day in the sun is over. Still a great company, but not the future of the mobile industry any more.

The problem is that the iPhone and iPad are good, but not great. There are better products out there. Most Android phones are better. A couple Android tablets are better, as is the Playbook. The competition of the past was not what it is now, and Apple is losing market share. This is all that matters, and proves that the stock is already over-valued. Apple will be missing estimates for a while.
